Yet another new manager asked about the skill colors, whether red and yellow mean the cap. This (and past threads) clearly shows that red and yellow (which is more like orange) cause confusion and misunderstandings, more so than being a helpful visual thing.

So my suggeestion is to change the color for 20-30 and 30-40 skill values to something else.

id sooner get rid of the colour diffence on skills completely! they add nothing and only confuse people. everyone who plays this game is intelligent enough to tell the difference between 20 and 30

That was the original plan...but I kinda like seeing green all over my players page

Edit: But whatever works for me, just get rid of red and orange.

Well, honestly I don't see the need to change or even remove the skill colors. In my opinion this is something you simply have to learn like a lot of other things at RZA. So why would it be better / easier if the color would not be red but e.g. purple?

The idea behind the different colors was that you get a quick overview about the skills of the player, like already mentioned "Ah, everything's green, great dude!"
Removing the colors would also remove that "feature". Exchanging wouldn't remove the feature, but again I don't see the difference if it's red, yellow, orange, purple, or whatever

One final alternative maybe would be to use bar graphics to display the skill values. I prepared a demo player detail page demonstrating what I mean... click here

But again, I don't see the urgency in that change... yet

Edit: typo

Interesting! I kind of like the bar graph idea.

But I don't really care about the colors either way. It seems to confuse some newbies, but if its in the manual or they ask the questions on the forums they get straightened out pretty quick.

I know why it's there, and it's not a bad thing, I've never said that. The difference would be that newly registered managers won't confuse them with caps anymore. And we're talking about changing 2 colors to something else, nothing more.

As far as the bar graph goes...it looks nice, but the current system goes better with this new design. The graphs look too flashy. But that's just my oppinion.

Of course it wouldn't be a big development task to change two colors, I just don't see the need for it
I think the biggest problem with those colors is that it's not explained in the manual yet - so this should be added. But from then, if the color will be red or purple, it's just a question of the definition.
But okay, I won't fight for the red and orange, just wanted to say how I see that

By the way, what means 'flashy' in that context? Never read that word yet
