Well - I should elaborate..

A DT with 42Str, 24Tackle, 20Vision and20FOotwork would make a horrible WR because his Speed/Position/Catch would likely be something like 28/12/12. It would take a very long time to train those skills to be useful as a WR.

Now - if you're talking about a DT with 35Str/14Tackle/12Vis/12/Footwork....then, yeah...moving him to another position is not a big deal, he's likely to have something like 30Speed/12Position/12Catch.

In the first instance you losing a functional DT for a trainee WR. Ouch!
In the second instance he's going from trainee DT to trainee WR. Meh.

It was a Gunner I moved to RB. He's wasting his tackling skills, but his special trait didn't fit a Gunner.

The root of the issue is that height and weight aren't used as factors in RZA. Maybe I should put this different. When you draft a player the first GM sets his position. From that point on he is what he is.

Look at the Bears they have tried for the last couple of years to move guards to tackle and vice-versa and all it did was kill Cutler.

Just seem like it would be easier to have them listed by position, we do it that way for the draft!

I like the idea of height and weight and I understand where you are coming from with changing positions, but it has to be implemented the right way or not at all. The whole thing blew up in the other football sim...

The H/W topic is called dead from the amdin for the moment. So it is not worth the effort to start this topic again.

Without implementing H/W the penalty could vary depending on the position you are moving from/to. I started a thread suggesting this yesterday here: http://redzoneaction.org/football/index.php?page=community&subpage=thread&thread_id=3182

For those too lazy to click the link here's how I summed it up in the end.
"When changing a player's position a penalty will apply based on how different the positions are perceived to be.
- Major Penalty (the positions aren't similar at all)
QB to DL
RB to DB
LB to TE
...

Average Penalty (the positions do have something in common)
FB to TE
TE to OL
K to P
...

Minor Penalty (realistic positional changes happening in the NFL for example)
LB to DL
RB to FB
TE to WR
..."

I think a 40 Strength DE probably works okay now - - in a couple of seasons, probably not.

Perhaps higher agility would offset low strength for a DE? Personally I like my DE to be 40/40 minimum for speed and strength...but it isn't always easy.

As to the complaint...I suppose you are just going to have to adapt to the changing of players around. Once you get used to the idea it is just fine, even fun. We do want to be like in RL but at the end of the day this is a sim, a computer game and as such it isn't going to be just like RL....

Actually you can recover the 50% Moral hit with 5 wins and the 50% TC hit in 8 games. This would be for me the Minor Penatly. The average Penatly would in my opinion a 75% hit and the major penalty a drop to 0%.

Would this be ok for you?

I've no problem with the penalty increasing, it's a bit ridiculous that it only takes 8 games to move say a P to LB, isn't it?
