I just noticed that, as far as I can see, I started out in the 2nd highest division in Galaxy. Is there a reason I started so high? There's plenty of space below and I'm pretty sure I'll be a punching bag this first season. Would I have been better off starting lower, or is this a blessing in disguise?

Any new manager starts in the first available spot inside the league he has chosen during the sign-up process.
Most of us started from the 2.X of respective leagues, since there are plenty of empty spots in there. |

3rd level was closed a few seasons back bc there are not enough active players to fill 3.x
3.x is still in the game, but there are only bots |

Equal.
Teams that are NC and AC Champions of both 2.1 and 2.2 leagues are all promoted to 1.1, so no difference between them. Same rules for teams that play promotion/relegation matches : four 1.1 relegating teams are matched with two promoting 2.1 teams and two promoting 2.2 ones.
