Why? You think the other way is better or just less of a hassle?

mostly less hassle and no risk of playing deciding not to sign a contract and having to be sold. my players wages should be pretty static for the next couple of seasons as im building rounded players not OSWs and with the new coaches it takes longer in general to gain skills(just how it looks to me without doing any maths or formulae to know for sure)

Also you may just be putting off problems for the future ... you give a player a long contract and bump his primary skill - what do you do when the contract is up.

If HR does become pretty much essential, its a really bad part of RZA. If its pros and cons aren't too unbalanced then that's fine.

Can't see renegotiating contracts constantly being anything other than a fairly tedious chore and fun online games aren't the time or place for tedious chores.

Anyways ... I'll see what we can do without it - going for nice balanced players and roster.

I think HR mode will have a clear competitive advantage.

1st of it seems like you can save around 10% at the negotiation point compared to skill based salary. That's a good start.

Second and much more important. Using franchise contracts for the best players, will give you a huge advantage. You can negotiate 4 years more than the current year. In that period the skills will rise significantly, but the salary will not follow. If you have 50 skill player, but be able to pay him as a 45 skiller, for a season or two, it will be a huge advantage. The difference is nearly 300k per update. As I see it, once developed it should be possible to save at least a million per u p d a t e and probably more. That should give a clear advantage.

Maybe it is just postponing the inevitable, but postponing the salary for the entire rooster by just 1 season, will be worth a lot.

There is a little trick to avoid this risk, if you keep this...

I'm using contracts but not sure how it works come the end of a players contract . I understand that I can tie a player down on a steady wage for so many seasons, yes? But what happens when his contract is up?
Does he then ask for an astronomical rise so it costs me more or less the same anyway or does it work out that the players request is less than the annual increase would have been.
