This thread is for when you're watching a game (either live or looking at some game after the event) and you see an occurrence during the game that really amuses you and you find yourself asking the question ....Did he REALLY try that in that situation? ...or...Did that REALLY just happen ?
I'll give you an example, from Yesterdays Supercup game. Towards the end of the 2nd Quarter, my team has a fairly comfortable lead (42-0), my Kicker (Calancea) is obviously feeling confident, so he goes for a long FG ...here is what happens 0:24 Serghei Calancea (K) kicks the ball for the Fieldgoal, 63 yard Fieldgoal missed 0:24 Terry Jessup (K) kicks the ball for the Fieldgoal, 64 yard Fieldgoal is good ROTFL !! ....the opposition kicker obviously thinks "Yeah, right ...I'll show you how it's done" ....and immediately replies with a 64 yarder ! Hats off to that man ! And then to keep me amused, the first real play of Quarter 3 (after the kick-off return) was the opposition scoring with a 70 yard pass |

Saw something like that once in a high school game before halftime. Instead of the second one being good though, the defense had a 6’11” tall kid stand in front of the goal post. He blocked the FG.
To make the game even more interesting, with about 3 seconds to go in the game the team with the tall kid tried a FG and it hit him in the back of the head, went up in the air, was caught by the other team who ran it back for a TD. Strangest game I ever saw! |

Laugh-out-loud when
Your punter averages hardly 34 yards in the games so far this season But manages today for average of 37,25 yard on the first 4 punts all for touchbak |

from last night, this amused me :-
9:09 1 and 10 to go on own 26 - (Opposition) QB Sacked - 7 yards for loss 8:42 2 and 17 to go on own 19 - no gain thinking to myself "I'm probably getting the ball back soon, and in a decent field position" ....... 8:12 3 and 17 to go on own 19 - HB/R starts running over the right end - 18 yards, New first down |

Not sure if this should be here or not maybe you guys can enlighten me.
5:19 3 and 9 to go on opp 43, Efren Nielson (OC) snaps the ball to Reynaldo Burns (QB), who hands off to Taylor Pereira (FB/R), he starts running over the left end, Garfield Sowers (DE/R) breaks through, the well blocked Defense Line can not do anything against, Taylor Pereira (FB/R) sees no OLBs, there is no SS who could tackle him, Taylor Pereira (FB/R) tackled by Justin Olivas (CB/R), forward progress: 13 yards, New first down (Shotgun 4 WR vs. Dime 4DL MLB 4CB 2SF) Now, does the commentary work so that my DE should be a DE/L to stop their FB/R? I.e. opposites, right vs left like they'd line up if you were looking birds eye view? If not did my DE just break through and watch him run by? |

The way the engine is at the moment it does not recognise that issue of sides, so the DE/L could make a tackle if the offense goes to his opposite side.
Ive noticed recently that blocking TEs don't really do a good job. They are mentioned in the play by play text as having blocked the DE, but the DE will still make the tackle. |

I think I wrote it before: the TE does not block the DL completely, he just lowers the speed of the DL.
