The 49'ers Draft Picks :-
1 (18) Reid, E. S 2 (40) Carradine, C. DE 2 (55) McDonald, V. TE 3 (88) Lemonier, C. DE 4 (128) Patton, Q. WR 4 (131) Lattimore, M. RB 5 (157) Dial, Q. DE 6 (180) Moody, N. OLB 7 (237) Daniels, B. QB 7 (246) Bykowski, C. OT 7 (252) Cooper, M. CB Not bad, not bad at all ......... The Safety was a must have , Carradine is a pass-rushing DE who shouldn't have still been on the board at #40. The TE is one of the fastest there is .... not that Vernon Davis is slow And Lattimore , presumably, is a long-term replacement for Gore. |

Just been looking at some tape of B.J.Daniels (QB) ....... doesn't look anywhere near NFL standard, and doesn't even look good enough for a 7th Rounder.
I think the mighty Red & Gold have probably blundered by picking him. |

Daniels is more of a "lets just pick him and see what happens" pick, rather than a "we need this guy now because we're weak at that position" pick! |

Yeah, for sure most of the picks at the 7th round level won't last long on the 49'ers Roster ... it's probably got the best quality vs depth of any NFL roster. But my point was .... the QB they took in the 7th, didn't even seem to be the best available QB at that stage in the Draft. It's just one of those weird picks where you're scratching your head thinking "What's that all about ?". Still a good Draft by the 49-ers though ... should be taped, gift-wrapped and sent to Dallas with a message "Dear Jerry, this is how you do it ... you think medium/long-term and Draft accordingly" |
