week 1 - i wouldnt give much credence to that result in reality. That being the same week as the Redskins pounded the Saints, the Cowboys beat the Giants and the Cardinals beat the Seahawks....all results that now youd be pretty confident would be reversed.

I may be far wrong - i just go from what i see and i just think they are still something short from winning the NFC.

We can sit here and go through each team where they have flattered to decieve this season. I watched the Saints v Eagles the other week and the Eagles lost it more than the Saints won it. GB were average against Detroit and SF. Houston were owned by GB. I think the difference between the Saints, GB and the Falcons is that you can't blow them out of a game because they can all score very quickly on you and suddenly its game on again. SF don't seem to possess that threat right now but they are a very impressive side and I wouldn't be surprised if they lined up against the Texans come the big dance.

So by that rationale you have to ignore the Texans performance against the Jaguars - widely regarded as the weakest team in the NFL (Chiefs anyone?)

At this stage its still anyones guess who will make the SuperBowl - no one would have tipped the Giants last season at this stage - but to me you look at teams with momentum. class and consistency along with the true big game players - the Niners tick some of those boxes but not all for me from what ive seen.

If pressed id stick with my preseason guess of Green Bay v Baltimore

A win is a win...I think. lol.

In any case, the Niners were a special teams teams brain fart from the superbowl last season. They ADDED weapons that improved their depth. They didn't lose anyone from the team, of consequence, last season. They have now had a full offseason under Harbaugh.

They have just as much of a chance as anyone in the NFC.

The rationale behind it was that over a 16 game schedule no one will perform at 100% and look like the real deal. A good match up for the 49ers may be a nightmare match up for the Falcons for example.

While I'll agree it's still wide open what I have seen of the 49ers I have been very impressed by. Still lots of games to be played, injuries to be had and last minute charges into the playoffs.

As there doesn't appear to be a 'Raiders Thread' in this section, can I just mention that although the Raiders seem to be crap every season, this season they just appear to be even more shite than they usually are !

and it makes me feel really good

Ive resisted the urge to create a Redskins thread (thank god for that) but i may just have to troll your 49ers thread for the Thanksgiving games as we take on the despised and disgusting Dallas Cowtwats,in which i hope you will all join me in hoping the Redskins stuff them and multiple Cowpat players suffer career ending injuries - including, but not limited to, Tony Romo, Jason Witten, Demarcus Ware, Dez Bryant, Miles Austin and any other bell end who wears a Cowgirl uniform.

Oh, and hopefully Jason Garrett will have some form of seizure when RGIII runs in his 5th TD to make it Washington 76 Dallas 3.

Yes, i want them to go 3-0 up so they think they are gonna win. Haha.

Cowboys are usually one of the teams I dislike the most, along with the Raiders and Patriots. It has been harder disliking the Cowboys when they continually punish themselves on the field. lol. Yes, I will support the Redskins over the cowboys.
