The suggestion is :-
A sliding scale of Transfer Tax ..... depending upon how long a player has been on your Roster .... Top tax rate of 25% , reducing (in gradual steps) down to 5% once the player has been on your roster for a whole season or more. btw ... if one or two of you are thinking "haven't I seen this somewhere before ?" ... you're right, it's not exactly my own original idea ...but if it helps prevent 'Day-traders' and managers becoming Hedge Fund Sim Managers rather than American Football Sim Managers, maybe it's worth 'borrowing' the idea from *cough* a certain other place. p.s. I anticipate hatred from some of the big-players on the TM, but my shoulder-pads are big enough to take it |

BUT ... a sliding scale of transfer tax might , not will, but might encourage managers to keep their players longer and to develop their own players instead of 'taking the easy option' and continually buying/selling on the TM in a never-ending quest for the holy grail of the 'perfect player' ....it might even take some of the heat out of a possibly overheated TM ...but I doubt it. Anyway ...it's an idea that I've put out there ....everybody feel free to shoot it down in flames if you feel like doing so ...but at least give some reasons for why you do/don't like it |

I am not for or against it. But I think these traders are part of the game, and a valid tactic to gain money in a management game

Well first off... i'm for the idea. I posted something about this some time ago about guys short selling and what not.
I could be totally wrong on this but I see day-traders happening because they realized they made a mistake in the acquisition of said player and what to get as good a return as possible. Turtle's right in their is no league or institution that doesnt have harsh penalties for quick turns. I don't see it as a "possiblity" that it will slow down the havoc of the TM... it definitely will. Everybody will be more judicious with their money if they knew that selling that player short will result in a definite hit the pocket. If it goes to a vote I dont see us winning this one buts definitely worth more consideration. |

Yes from me if it means removing the the 16k start price limit.
But I vote No if the 16k starting price limit stays, as for me that already does enough to deter daytrading at any meaningful level. |

Stays exactly the same as now (i.e seller pays the tax) .... but now tax is 5% flat fee ....under this proposal tax will be 25% on a sliding scale down to 5%. So ... dark-wing .... your $113,113,113 purchase would still have cost you ...... $113,113,113 |
