I hired an 87 OL AC. Still working on 4), but that was important to get good line play from my so-so OLine. Then I hired a bunch of 51-52 ACs to fill out all the defensive coaching slots, Special Teams (because I used to do a little kicking), and everything but WR and TE. (I plan to start work on the passing game whenever my 70yo RB AC hangs up his whistle). That gives me 171-173 training points for the YA every update, and my RBs and OLine tend to play above their ability. DISCLAIMER: I had a fully built stadium when I hired coaches. I can (probably!) afford the $2M/u p d a t e salary hit. You can get good results with a HC ~65-70, and 9 or 10 ACs 51-65, and spend a lot less!!! Talk about a well thought out long term plan that is coming together, and still rolling. Well Done. Im still trying to get the hold on things so i dont yet have a long term plan, still trying to figure out what to do aldo i have an idea, really want a powerfull OL and DL, but to have them i need first to build seats and then only then when i have my finances in a great shape i can hire the coaches i want, currently building us stadium and facilities while saving up some cash forPR and Scout. Looking forward for the next Draft since i missed this one!  |

Ouch! That was too bad. You don't need to Scout anyone on your Draft Board until after your last regular-season league game. Then, hire a level-20 Scout. Scout everyone. Stack your Draft Board. Hold on to your level-20 Scout until the start of the next season, because Pete puts the new Draft Board up shortly after the new season starts. Scout all the new draftees, and then fire your Scout (if you need to save the $50,000/update). This way you get Season 4 and Season 5 drafts fully scouted in about 10 updates.  (Just don't forget to re-hire the Scout near the end of Season 6 before you start scouting again!!)
NOTE: You don't HAVE to scout the draft board to do well, but these three guys are so critical to the future of your team, that it's worth the investment and effort. Just my opinion. |
