Was wondering how does the Playbook work when you have more then one play selected for one specific situation?
i.e. Quarter - [1] Down - [2] To Go - [7 to 10] Distance to GL - [Any] Score - [Any] Clock - [Any] Offense - [Big I] Play Type - [Pass] Play Direction - [All Directions] And then i have this one: Quarter - [1] Down - [2] To Go - [7 to 10] Distance to GL - [Any] Score - [Any] Clock - [Any] Offense - [Wishbone] Play Type - [Pass] Play Direction - [Both Flanks] In this case the Quarter, Down, To go, Distance to GL, Score and Clock were the same but the play call is diferent, my question is what play would be called in this situation, would the SIM call both plays during the game or would it call the same one over and over making it pointless to have more then 1 play set to any specific situation? If the answer is "it only calls 1 play neglecting all others". Why not introduce Percentages in the playbook, you could have the plays you would want to have in each situation and then set the percentage of times you want those plays to be executed. i.e. Quarter - [1] Down - [2] To Go - [7 to 10] Distance to GL - [Any] Score - [Any] Clock - [Any] Offense - [Big I] Play Type - [Pass] Play Direction - [All Directions] Call This Play [insert percentage] Of The Time Quarter - [1] Down - [2] To Go - [7 to 10] Distance to GL - [Any] Score - [Any] Clock - [Any] Offense - [Wishbone] Play Type - [Pass] Play Direction - [Both Flanks] Call This Play [insert percentage] Of The Time Note - The percentages would have to have a maximum of 100% all together so in the example i gave lets say i would call the first play 70% of the time, and the other 30%, that meant i couldnt have any other play selected for that situation, unless i reduced the percentages. |

I think it calls whichever is higher in the list all of the time but don't quote me on that - someone who knows this better will answer.
But yes I agree with your % thing 100% |

"Warning 3:The order of the entries is important. The check for active playbook rules goes from top to bottom. The first matching rule becomes active. Having "Any quarter any down"-rules on top of the playbook makes all following rules useless."

Now that im sure this the case i think its a area of the game that should be further developed, as it stands the SIM will s e l e c t the top play in the playbook for any specific situation and run it over and over again, wich doesnt seem logical at all, and cuts back on the options that you have, currently you might have 10 diferent plays for one specific situation but the 1 that is the 1st in the playbook will ALLWAYS be selected, kind of defeats the purpose of setting more then one play. My suggestion or something along those lines, would bring much beneficts and a variaty of options towards RZA and his users, beeing that they could set many plays for the same specific situation and s e l e c t the % of time they want said play to happen. Bearing in mind that the Percentage could never go by 100% for the totality of the plays selected. mikemike778 wrote:

In an instance like this, you can change one of them to only be active within a certain distance of the goalline, or with only a certain amount of time left in the quarter, or based on whether you are ahead, behind, or tied.
Then be careful how you stack them. |

Dont get me wrong theres a bunch of options as it stands, alot of them actualy, but its not very realistic to only be able to s e l e c t one play for a specific situation. If a defense has a whole has an Inteligence Skill (mainly the MLB and Secondary) thats above average they should pick it up and shut down offenses. (Assuming thats how inteligence works) Because they will be running mostly the same plays during the game duration. Just my point of view. |
