I think short passes (the "pass" option, as opposed to "pass medium" or "pass deep") are harder to intercept. However, I'm guessing most RZA offenses throw 90+% short passes and very few medium or long. So LBs see a lot of passes. One of MANY flaws in my Playbook is I don't have any medium or long pass plays..... From my studies is main reason INT. SF are not in top ten because not so many passes there. |

Yeah, I think its all the short passing (or the way the passing game is configured) and mostly the MLB in coverage. I had a player that lead my team in interceptions (season #2) and when I moved him to CB his interceptions dropped off the map and my new MLB became the new team leader.

Steve SD Blitz I agree, but without high INT,you won't be so successful |

Here's two plays that happened in my team game today:
MLB Intercepts a 9 yarder 9:19 3 and 9 to go on own 38, Scot Akin (OC) snaps the ball to Shelton Randall (QB), Shelton Randall (QB) selected Alan Sams (TE/R) as target, he passes inner right for 9 yards to him, intercepted by Gustavol Correia (MLB) on the own 47 CB Intercepts a 2 Yard Pass 3 and 2 to go on opp 22, Marcos Gomes (OC) snaps the ball to Julio Castro (QB), Julio Castro (QB) selected Gjermund Robert (WR/R) as target, he passes outer right for 2 yards to him, intercepted by Kendall Byrd (CB/L) on the opp 20 Both made sense, MLB covered the TE route in the middle and made the Interception, and the CB was right on top of the WR the QB probably made a *bad throw and boom Intecepted. * Would be really cool if the PBP informed the pass inteceptions, descriving them as bad throws (Over throwed/Short Pass) or knocked losse by the defender, receiver had butter hands..etc etc.. So if both the MLBs and CBs are covering short passes...how come the MLB seems to get most of the interceptions?

Maybe CB´s make a man to man coberture with their paired WR and LB´s make an area coverture in the inside passes (WR´s running inside routes and TE passes).

0:37 3 and 11 to go on opp 23, Eddy Arteaga (OC) snaps the ball to Edwin Hoy (QB), Edwin Hoy (QB) selected Fermin Turner (TE/R) as target, he passes inner right for 25 yards to him, intercepted by Rodolfo Jefferson (OLB/L) on the opp 1 for inches (Big I formation vs. 5-3-3)
0:34 Rodolfo Jefferson (OLB/L) returns the ball, Fermin Turner (TE/R) is not able to make the tackle, this was a 100 yards interception return touchdown (5-3-3 vs. Big I formation) 0:19 touchdown Well this is a first for me not to mention a shock.... |

I am sure.
The engine is very simple. If target is WR - CB makes the intercept. If target is TE - LB makes the intercept. |

This is logical and realistic.
