The engine is very simple.
If target is WR - CB makes the intercept.
If target is TE - LB makes the intercept.

So, I've had a free safety make an interception...how does that happen?

For example.
Dime have just one LB.
For Dime SS and FS make intercepts.

When I first did my playbook I had some medium and long passes in there - until all the INTs. So if there is hardly any medium and long passes then the DBs wont make many INTs.

It seems if you simply s e l e c t "pass" then it is always short - or maybe the QB gets more daring as his skills go up?

Was it not said somewhere that selecting 'pass' means that the QB aims for the yardage he needs to get the 1st down? If it's 1st and 10 he aims for 10 yards, 2nd and 14 he aims for 14 yards etc

I have another opinion on this

Then my QB needs glasses - comes up short often!

Which "pass" do you mean - playbook or game settings?

I thought it was in the playbook. Even if he aims for a player at the down marker if that player is being defended closely he will still throw to a different player who could be short of the marker.

I haven't changed my settings too much so maybe I'm wrong or just mis-read something but I always had that in my head from near the beginning of the game

Agree with Alexhans. MLB often makes interceptions on passes to WR, OLB I think too.

From what I have seen the Engine runs like this.
CB man up to WR.
OLB play an curl flat zone
MLB middle curl zone
SF plays a cover 1 or 2 depending on the formation.
