Was it not said somewhere that selecting 'pass' means that the QB aims for the yardage he needs to get the 1st down? If it's 1st and 10 he aims for 10 yards, 2nd and 14 he aims for 14 yards etc

I believe it was said, but I don't think it actually works properly. I end up with mostly passes of 3-5 yards no matter the down/distance. The only reason my average is higher than that is because of the occasional long pass.

I am sure.
The engine is very simple.
If target is WR - CB makes the intercept.
If target is TE - LB makes the intercept.

I have another opinion on this

Why?

Because there are four verticals in this game and if WR run "inner route" pass to him can be intercepted by MLB.
BTW, does anyone ever seen an interception by OLB?

Yes, in my last league game (relegation match) my OLB intercepted a pass to a WR.

I hoped for SF to have impact against run

But since today i know that even a one legged rusher can easily move because a speed SF is "not there"

Well 150 Mill waste for SF, so what

Yeah, that's the downside of the 5-3. It's the best formation against the run imo, but the fact that there's no SS leaves your defense vulnerable to long runs
