The draft players are an exception to the rule if i remember correct. These guys are judged to have came through the college game, like in RL so their RZA YA career was spent in college.

The YA is like meeting players in the amateur game

So if thats the case there should be a tag on drafted players cause for example i bougth a drafted player who is 20 years old so i got 1 year for extratraining...

Drafted players should not sign to a ya of another team in my opinion.

i could be wrong in saying draftee's wont enter a team's YA. Pete will let us know for sure, or someone else who knows for sure.

It's true that the players you draft always go to the senior roster, not the YA.

But I thought Free Agent draftees (drafted and dropped by Botteams) who are 19 or 20 can go to your YA.

I know this isn't easy nor likely, but it would almost make more sense to have a set skill level that would go directly to the senior team regardless of age. Does it make sense for a player on the TM who has 20+ in his main skill and then 35+ in strength and speed to enter a Youth Academy? I don't think so. I don't know if that is easily programmable and/or if anyone would consider it a good idea.

I should clarify that the current system is fine except I would ADD the above idea to it.

The current system may be fine for more estblished teams who have already had a chance to strengthen their roster, but for a newbie like me, there are plenty of 18-20yr old players that I would like to put straight into my starting side.

At the moment, I have to manipulate the numbers in my YA to try and put some players in it, and some players straight up, but it does not always work the way I want.

I have no problem with 16-17yr olds going to the YA, and not being able to be promoted.

Perhaps the real question should be, why is there a limit on promotions from the YA? What real life event is that supposed to simulate?

A better YA should provide more youth slots, and better training, but I can see on reason for limiting the number of promotions.

Thats why i thought about tagging them as Pros, no Pro should be allowed to go back to any YA!
