Hi there, brave warriors!

I'm getting seriously annoyed with a few teams out there. It appears to become "common practice" among some users to lose their games deliberately in order to get relegation. Unfortunately, there is a bunch of rewards for this kind of destructive behavior, such as:

1. First draft pick
2. Extra gate receipt through additional Playoff games (after relegation) amounting to about $20 Mio (I'm guessing)
3. Extra trophies
4. Promotion to Champ of Champs Cup, adding another so and so many Mio of cash

Further, we are all wanting to play an American Football Sim that is as realistic as possible. People left, right and center complaining about too much rushing, slow player development, injury occurance and what not. These are, in my opinion, only peanuts in comparison to managers leading their team into bottom flight. Deliberately!!! Hereby screwing the honest, hard work of others and laughing away at the rest when checking into their bank accounts. Financial benefits through relegation?? Unknown to mankind in any sport.

Personally, I've got zero trophies, never qualified for CotC Cup, but I'm trying hard, and I'm not giving up until I make it there through cincere skillful management.

My idea is to simply allow only top flight teams into CotC Cup or cap attendance for home games to 50-70% after relegation. Problem solved. Any opinions on this?

Edit: possibly the benefits of deliberate relegation have been adressed by Pete by the "financial/economic restructure". If so, then fine. In that case my post here is obsolete.

i agree that top division teams only should qualify for the CoC, the other stuff is being rectified(check the blog)

i would suggest the 2 league bowl playing teams from each 1.1 league go into 2 groups of 8 playing each other once with the top team from each of those divs playing in the final.

That's it. Great idea. I would sign up for that instantly. Thanks for your thumbs up, Monkey.

I like the general idea but 4 groups of 4 with the top 2 of each group making it would be even better to keep all 4 teams trying until the very last match imo.

I know your schedule would be 8 weeks long and mine only 6 so if 8 weeks is a required amount I'd say play home and away in the groups and only allow the top team of each group in the semi-final.

This would bring in even more money into the game.
Even if it makes sense from competition point of view, this extra money is too much!

relegation financial issues...if you look at the English Premier League, they have "Parachute payments" for demoted teams for up to 3 years after relegation.

Isn't the total gate receipt exactly the same? Why is it more? Or do you mean that top flight club will earn more?

Another incentive for change is that a Champ Of The Champs competition should include true Champs, and not relegated teams that are aiming for a cheap easy ticket to get in.

Could you imagine a UEFA Champions League with teams such as Meppen and Cottbus? I can't.

My main incentive, however, would be to keep the cheaters out.

At the moment the CoC-Cup is a KO system.

is a round robin system with 7 games granted to everyone!

THAT would bring more money in it.

There is no real life competition comparable to the CoC, at least I don't know of such. Champions of several levels fight in one competition?
Nearest would be Olympic games with national qualification rounds, and you can see several countries on different levels, but the CoC is no UEFA Champions League.

From my point of view a KO system with division champions would be OK, but no round robin.
And if someone likes to can a season, let them. They lost a season! And with the up coming changed financial changes, it get less attractive.

Just my 2cents:

CoC

League 1 Teams play one KO System

League 2 Teams play one KO System with 80% of Revenue

League 3 Teams play one KO System with 60% of Revenue
.
.
.

Winner of League 1 plays against Winner of League 2 for the big thing...
