From the manual:

Fullback
The Fullback is used primarily as a blocker, but can rush and receive passes(not implemented yet).
At the moment there is no blocking by the Fullback on rushplays and screen passes

Seems he isn't good for anything.

essentially he is best at being your 1-2 yard ground pounder from the goal line or in tight situations where the defense is playing the pass

In truth Good fullbacks can be better rusher than HB because they rush out of shotgun. So defense are more likely to be in a pass defensive which means less LB and DL. But it only works well if you keep things balance and have a good passing game for those rare game the rushing get stop.

These are my teams rushing stats from this season.

___________________Rushes__yds___avg____TD
Darron Pappas___RB __758____4471___5.9___61
Demetrio Molin___FB __322____2373___7.4___23
Ian Peeples______FB __246____1697___6.9___20
Wilbur Townes___RB __241____1648___6.8___34
Calogero Grass___FB __228____1486___6.5___28
Trenton Herndon _QB___18_____119___6.6____1
Neal Allen_______QB___15______99___6.6____0

As you can see my HB (drafty) clearly out played my FB in TDs but his avg is good bit lower than my solid non drafty fullbacks.

A FB only rushes out of shotgun, do I get this right?

The manual seems to exclude him from every play, does it depend on playbook then?

It depends on the formation and direction you s e l e c t the run to be, fullbacks run from the Wishbone formation to if you go up the gut (Middle). I cant say for sure what other formations they run, someone with more know how and experience should chime in here and explain this better to you.

Found an answer from someone who helped me in a somewhat related question that i was asking, the diference was i wanted the FB to stop running lol, but works to explain it, it seems the FB rushes from both SG formations and form the Wishbone.

How can i stop my FB's from carrying the ball, all i want them to do is mainly block, does this have to do with the formation that is selected in the playbook?

1st thing: avoid running from either Shotgun formation ... there are no Halfbacks in the Shotgun.

2nd thing: don't run up the middle in the Wishbone.

I think that should do it.

Pro Set has no FB, and I think the HB does all the rushing in the I and Big-I.

You can find some info on some more questions in this thread.

In formations such as 2 and 4 wr shotgun or goal line where the FB is the only back in the game he is by default the only who rushes in those circumstances.
