I've notice a lot of good team don't have a lot of LB & Safety sacks, ergo they're not blitzing much (i think).

So I guess the question, is blitzing actually counter productive in most cases? Is the couple of sacks outweighted by the play that goes for a TD because of it?

well to tell the truth thanks to the max 15% blitzing and that a blitz from what i have seen only sends one guy so most of the time they get block.

but from what i seen in my games it does cause incomplete pass even if they do get block

Until blitzes become capable of sending more guys, or stuffing rush plays at source, probably not. I only blitz against weaker teams who pass frequently, or when I forget to adjust the playbook

how does it work in a 3-4

In real life - a 34 would normally send a linebacker to rush the pass as standard (ie not really as a blitz) making it 4 pass rushes like a 43.

Does this happen here ... presume not and 3 are normally sent.

I think the modern 3-4 is a little different than the 3-4 of yesterday. Today, the 3-4 has a NT and ends that are more holding, run stuffing linemen. The OLBs are my hybrid players that are more like typical DE's, but line up just off the line.

To me, living in SD, the guy I think is/was the prototypical edge-rusher in the 3-4 was Shawne Merriman for the two or three seasons where he was just dominate.
