I may need some help with this one in terms of padding out, tweaking or feasibility, but it seems to me that once you reach the stadium max of 144,300, you cant help but accrue cash that short of buying the odd ex-draft player or two, simply builds and builds and builds.

So, my thoughts are thus :

In the NFL, you have two types of Stadia - outdoors and indoors (bowls on turf).

They are also Regionalised, so are exposed to weather extremes as the season develops

So, firstly, i propose that weather conditions are introduced in to the game - Sunny, Windy, Drizzle, Heavy Rain, Freezing, Snow - either basic as the above, or more detailed.

You can nullify the weather effect by converting your stadium into a 'Bowl' - and you become a specialist indoor team - giving you a *big* advantage at home, especially against outdoor teams, but a disadvantage when away. However, being a bowl team is expensive - but when completed allows for a (bigger/smaller?) capacity.

You also need to s e l e c t a Region that your team is based. To keep it simple (although it would be great to do it dependant on your country represented) all teams have the choice to be a Sunny/Mixed/Extreme climate team. This means if you have an outdoor stadium and your team is extreme and youre playing at home to a team who is from sunny climes, you get a HFA bonus - vice versa and so on, depending on the game condition and opposition.

Also, maybe there are more stadium options to spend cash on, that either boost attendances, income, or in game advantages - but have an upfront expense and can either increase or decrease capacities - such as :

Retractable roofs
Jumbovision
Dual Facility Stadia (so used for other events bringing in income)
Differing types of playing surfaces

Im sure, or hope, you see the angle im coming at - there are many examples you can give at 'real life' teams, stadiums and weather conditions that affect games and especially for things like Punting, FG attempts, Passing accuracies and the like, the weather or conditions play a large part.

Anyway, will put it out there and see what the reactions like!

Sorry to tell...

We have this discussion in the Board of Advisers (BoA), and were not able to find a real compromise. There are pros and cons of the weather, as example. Also the type of stadium including a Dome option was discussed (more maintenance, but higher tickets, therefore more influence of form and so on).

We won't introduce such a feature until we can not reach any kind of agreement in the BoA.

However, feel free to discuss it here, maybe we see some new things we did not thought yet.

I would like to ask the BoA members not to transfer "secrets" into this discussion here, thanks in advance.

To give you an idea...

One topic: How do we calculate the weather...The question was: "based on the region, or random overall. Based on region means there is never snow in the Sahara or Gobi, and mostly Death valley is not for Snowboards too...But this means it would be unfair. Teams in the Northern Territories would never see cool passing weather....This is why I suggested to make it random, equal for all...I was shot down...

I like the ideas and would like to see them introduced in the future.

That said, I don't think you should be to afraid to just accumulate money without a chance to spend them. Once your team gets more developed and your salaries explodes you will wish you had more money. It will take some seasons, and no one are really there yet, but it will come.

That could be solved letting the weather follow the NFL season for the given areas. Letting it be random but following a normal distribution, where the mean is the average weather for a given area for actual time of year the round would be played in the NFL. The variance could be based on the actual variance for the same conditions. I now it will be a bit arbitrary but it could be done.

Hmmm, i see the point.

Guess it all depends on what importance is placed on the little flag that accompanies every team. If non, then there should be no objection to random/equal for all. If some, then yes you are going to have to take local climates into account, which could make it very difficult to achieve.

I just know when the Saints visit Green Bay in December, Drew Brees aint pegging it 500 yards for 6 TDS as he does when he is in his nice Superdome....and sometimes at Soldier Field or the QWest stadium a 30 yard punt can be a 60 yard punt in the next quarter....
