Toni, just had a look at your season.

You lost your first league game 7:3 and probably missed the playoffs due to that.

You had your 1 and only supercup loss to the tune of 16:13.

A touch more luck and/or skill and you're into both post seasons so based on that I'm not sure you have that much of a point.

But I do agree that there seems to be way too much opportunity for the rich to get richer. Maybe we can get some of the old Russians to sort that out! Time for a revolution!

So again I say scrap CofC for starters since it really is just another unnecessary bite of the cherry on a service that already has 2.

Many Senior Managers (Buffalo, JonnyP, notsch, jack6, sfniner08, etc...) believe there should NOT be any extra financial reward for Top Teams playing CoC Cup. Participation is honorary, and should not award more than a regular friendly game.

Further, the CoC Cup should change its current modus. Buffalo suggested involving all conference winners of Div.I. Two groups, with 8 teams each, including all AC Champions and all NC Champions. Teams play each other in their groups, and the two group winners play out final.

My suggestion:
16 teams (all Conference champions from 1.1 leagues) participate in Coc Cup.
2 groups: AC and NC. Every team plays all other teams in its group once. So we have 7 weeks. Top 4 teams from each group compete in playoffs. Quarterfinals, semifinals and final. So 10 weeks in total.
Attendance capped at 50 000.
It would be very interesting competition, even group matches would be great in my opinion.

I'd like to see the end of CofC. After the SBs go straight to inter league post season culminating in the Mega Bowl.

Also, for both SC and league post seasons, winners get $2M/match, losers $1M. The teams that get the bye in the first week get $2M if they play a friendly on the wildcard/bye day. So no ticket sales for any post season games.

So League trophies could be -

Division Champion x 64
Conference Champion x 16
SB Champion x 8
MB semi-finalist x 2
MB runner-up
MB Champion

And then the finalists (SC and League) get, say, $5M to loser and $10M to winner.

Relegation games get the same as league friendly.

I still like the idea of a CoC Cup, but not in the current format, which is shite in my opinion. There's just too many teams in there that shouldn't be in it, i.e. the quality being watered down.

I think I may open a discussion soon about organizing a REAL CoC Cup in a Friendly Cup format. Only drawback being that teams would have to pay credits to enroll, either in a 16 team Friendly Cup (all Conference Champs) or 32 team Cup (all Conference finalists). The Cup manager may organize teams either randomly, or AC vs NC, or whatever the community decides for.

First invite would go out to the above teams, 2 weeks time to respond to the invite and sign up. Any team that doesn't want to sign up in this time span will get replaced by the next best team in the conference, etc.

1/ A manager might be calling it quits and so he both misses the chance to be champ and the spot is wasted.

2/ You end up with teams that have all had a draft, retirements, reshuffling and over a half season of training. They are not even the same teams anymore!

3/ 8 SB champs and then...............huge anti-climax!

I'm disappointed that you slate my idea, however, this is what I think:

1. If a manager decides to call it quits, then it's his own loss. The reputation of "the biggest Friendly Cup of all" should grow, so that no one wants to miss it.

2. This point of yours I do not understand. Is the same "problem" not presenting in the current CoC Cup?

3. And then what? Why anti-climax? Again, I don't get your point.

Anyhow, Pete has decides against restructuring the current CoC Cup format.

Unless he changes his mind, I don't see another option to get the RZA's best 16/32 teams under one umbrella.
