OK, there have been doubts about the rich getting richer and the lack of salary caps.

I will provide here an example as to why it won't work to have a roster of superstars.

This example is for those without an HR Department. It will however give a fairly decent example of why a salary cap is not needed.

First let's lay down the wages based on skills.

I think it best to start at a skill level of 20 as that is the minimum in my opinion of contributing players at a top level.

20=$2750 per update

30=$15,500

35=$36,988

40=$88,300
41=$105,077
42=$125,041
43=$148,799
44=$177,071
45=$210,715
46=$250,750
47=$298,393
48=$355,088
49=$422,555
50=$503,200

Let's stick with the starters first.

QB skill level 45
RB1skill level 40
RB2 skill level 35
FB skill level 35
WR 1 skill level 45
wr 2 skill level 40
Te 1 skill level 40
te 2 skill level 35
5 OL with average skill level 40

For your offense starters that is a total of $1,238,794

Defense

DE1 45
DT1 40
DT2 40
NT 40
DE2 45
OLB 40
MLB 45
OLB 40
CB 40
CB35
SF 45
SF40

For those defense starters: $1,497,948

Kicker and punter at 40 each just another 160k

Total of about 2.75 million per u p d a t e for just the starters.

Want backups, right?

Conservatively 18 backups at 15,500 each for level 30 would be 279,900.

So this good roster with no one above 45 in skill level is costing 3 million per update.

You also have other costs to consider. Coaches, facilities, staff....

So... 24 updates at 3 million each for player salaries is 72 million.
My coach salaries are average, I think. It will cost me almost 37 million for the season on coach wages. Another 4.8 million on staff wages. 20 million goes towards facility and stadium maint.

all in all my season costs with the above good roster is $134 million ish.

My total income for the season is 141 million plus postseason and friendlies (not a whole lot on those friendlies).

Sweet I have a cushion of 7-20 million, right? Do you want to look at the TM? You won't buy much with those kind of finances.

Lets take 2 of those 40 skill players and make them 50 skill level players to put your team over the top. You just increased your yearly cost by nearly 20 million.

My estimation is that 3 million is my personal max I want to spend on salaries, but that still makes it closer than I want. BTW 6 players at skill level 50 is over 3 million per update.

lol, then wouldn't it make sense to go the opposite way with a team? If everyone is geared to stop the run but not the pass then I'm going to build to pass. It is a risk either way.

After seeing how you smoked the 5-3-3 with the 4WR formation to get to OT the other day..............................................

As to salaries - just watch the top-3 jump up after the EOS update....

Now:
1 - 1,990,753
2 - 1,968,292
3 - 1,499,074

Aug 8?

I trained Vision and Positioning all season to try and control salaries a bit.

I can see how wages can spiral out of control for the top teams.

Maybe wages need to be restructured to include physical attributes into the equation, and reduce the contribution of non physical attributes to the equation.

How many teams who have been here since season 3 played in the 1.1 Super Bowl at the end of the just completed season?

Well, a quarter of the playoff teams in Dragons 1.1 are after season 1. Considering that the Dragon league is a strong one that is a good indicator of the teams starting to catch up.

However, if you started earlier then you of course have an initial advantage and within 4 seasons or so it will really start to even out. It is unrealistic, and I think completely wrong for a team to start off ready to compete for a title in one season at the 1.1 level.

I'd like to see it take about 3 seasons - possibly.

I think starting here shouild be like taking over the Raiders. There's a lot of work to do but there's a bit of talent there also. Put the cleaners thru the coaches and roster and in 3 or 4 years you should be interesting - if you're good.
