What a thrilling game. I watched only the first half and it was nearly what I expected. The Cards defense put a lot of pressure on Russel wilson, who played like a Rookie. Skelton, played unspectecular with no mistakes in the first half an led the team to a halftime lead. A lot of penelties were the down side of the cards performance. Some def pass intererfering calls were doubtful.
In the second half, the cards can't do anything with their offense and the seahawks came back. In the forth quarter Skelton went down with an ankle injury, Kolb came on the field and led the cards to a game winning TD. The last 2 minutes caused a lot of confusion. 2 Def interfering calls brought the Seahawk to the 4 yard line of the cardinals. At 30s the refs gave the seahawks an additional timeout. This was a real mistake, because the seahawk had to take their 3. TO after a injured player. Fortunately couldn't complete one of his passes in the last seconds. Now we have our first win and must wait how serious the injury of skelton is. If the will miss the next game, than the QB-discussion will start again. |

Coach Whiz is a man, who don't put Rookies into the game to early. I think Floyd will get more snaps after the two tough games against the partiots and eagles. Andre Roberts had a great preseason and a good game against Seattle. He is a clear #2 at the moment. Doucet had also a solid start and Floyd has to battle him first to get closer to ther starting lineup. Rookie Tackle Bobbie Massie performed well as Passblocker. The complete OL must be better as run blockers. If Massie can play consistent at this level, than he was a bargain in round 3. We will see and some bad games will come, like for every young player. The Cards travel this weekend to Foxborough to face the mighty Patriots. Everybody think, that it will be an easy game for the Pats. It is very likely, but I see no easy job for the Pats.
Kevin Kolb will start in this game. Skelton is officially doubtful and will not play after a week with no training reps. I think he is glad to play not against the strong Pats defense. There is not much honor to earn as a cards QB in this game. The Pats defens performed great compared to their performance last year. I will be a tough game for the OL and the Runningbacks, who had a poor performance last week. I think they have a good game plan to do something and everyone is highly motivated. The Cards defense will be in the focus during the total game. They need a outstanding day and must perform like last week and better. Horton will put a lot of pressure at -G.O.A.T-. The OL is not the best and there will be some holes to make Tom's life hard. This will be the key to defend the pass heavy Pats. They shouldn't forgett Steven Ridley, who had a good start into the season last week. It is possible, that Hernandez will also carry the ball sometimes. The defending of Hernandez and Gronk will be the other tough task for this game. This will be a job for the LB and SF. I think Washington, Wilson, and Rhodes will do the most coverage jobs. Important will be to mask the coverage schemes, to make reads for -G.O.A.T- as tough as possible. Hopefully the cards can limit the offense of the Pats and force some turnovers. Than the game can be close. Otherwise the Cards will have no chance in Foxborough on a bad day. Expect the unexpected! |

Vereen is also back in training. So it doesn´t depends all on Ridley in the running game. I think this was a focus during the offseason. It´s not the same heavy pass offense like last year.
In the pass game buffalo miss 2 guys. Lloyd and Welker. Welker had more receiving yards than Gronk last season. In week 1 he was only receiver number 4 but maybe they change the the gameplan. Lloyd has 69 receiving yrds the most against Tennessee. The key will be the performance of Solder the new LT. He is only on the road but no Matt Light yet. In the Pats Defense the match up Chandler Jones vs Batiste will be the interesting one. |

I hope there will be a better referee than last week. In my opinion they called to much pass interferences. Solder will be treated from Campell and Acho. Acho could be the bigger problem because of his quickness. Jones will be a huge task for Batiste and on the other side Massie will have a lot to do with Ninkovich and Majo. I expect, that Fitz will make a great game, if the OL can give Kolb time to throw. Fitz (6-3) will be a huge task for the smaller McCourty (5-10). We will see. I hope the game will be close and spectecular until the end. |
