It seems that every player added to the DC will get about the same amount of plays for that position as every other player in the DC for that position.
This means that you cannot control how much game time the starter gets (highest on DC) unless you take all other players off the DC for that position and simply let the energy setting in the Game Orders handle substitution which means you lose control of who those subs are since the game controls that. So my suggestion is to have the option to - a) leave it as is b) make it so that every player on the DC in the higher place only is substituted by the energy setting in the Game Orders. You can control it partial:
There is an option in game settings - "don't change until" and you can set when start changing. Maybe because I usually play 50-55 players in a match, but in my team it happens from time to time that player who is low in depth chart gets no plays at all. Ok, had a quick look and think about that but I'd still rather have the studs on the field if their energy is above x.
Probably need also to have an energy level to get back to b4 studs go back on field as well. Maybe also position specific. |

I have a Spin to add to this. How about were we can set the auto sub per each position almost like in madden. That way we can have our player rotate more in some position but not rotate as much in others.
So example QB 80 HB 85 FB 82 TE 83 WR 85 OL 80 DL 85 LB 83 CB 81 SF 80 So if I wanted them to sub like this instead of all player sub at 83 or 85 or what ever you set it on. |

Now that I think about it a little more, I think I'd simply like to assign a % to every player. I can see their PC b4 a match so I can take that into consideration then.
I see also that there is something for the future regarding this in the playbook as seen in game orders (button not active yet) so looks like something xtra is planned anyway. |

Its not quite what you want but you can set position specifics not to substitute at all. |

b) make it so that every player on the DC in the higher place only is substituted by the energy setting in the Game Orders. As a new player I had assumed this was the way it worked. It just makes sense, you only sub your starters to give them a little rest and then get them back on the field. Starters should get somewhere between 60% - 90% of the eligible snaps for the game. The remaining plays to the backups with a fairly quick drop off rate. So by the time you hit the 3rd person on the DC at a given position (assuming 1 starter at that position) there should be only a few snaps. None or almost none for the 4th on the DC. |
