In some ways, I think it's slightly unfair that a new manager who joins today will have no Draft players on his team, whereas a manager who joined 2 days ago will have 3 draft players on his team.
Therefore I have the following suggestion :- When the Draft occurs, the 3 draft players that each team gets are "assigned to the team" until the last regular season league game. For 'Bot Teams', the players won't be seen on the team (initially), but the links between the Team and the Draft Players will remain. If Team A were to go Bot, and then 2 weeks later Team A was taken over by a new manager (manager A) ........ then Manager A would be given the 'standard' team that new managers get ... plus .... under certain circumstances (see later conditions) , he would also get the 3 draft players that were 'assigned in the Draft to Team A'. I think two restrictive conditions need to be applied :- (1) - The new manager needs to complete his Manager License to get the Draft players. I'm sorry but if you can't be bothered to complete your manager License then you don't deserve any free Draft players ... as simple as that. So ...... at the very start of the manager License, you will be told that if you complete all 12 sections of the manager License then you will be given the chance of a very nice free gift in Section 13 (the new section) where you get your Draft players. (2) - I don't like the idea that somebody could join 1 day before the Draft, get their 3 draft players for this season and then get another 3 Draft Players (for the next season) in a day or two. So ....restriction number 2 ..... once the last regular league game of the season has finished, the gift of 3 Draft Players is taken off the table .... my thinking here is that it is now post-season therefore you only have a few weeks to wait for the Draft to get some Draft Players. Here's an example of how I see this in action :- Team A in Dragons 2.2 is a human team, 2 weeks into the season the team goes Bot. The team stays Bot for 3 weeks. The team gets a new Human owner, the team that the new Manager gets is the 'default' team that new Managers get .... he has NO draft players yet. The manager is smart enough to do his Manager's License. the new section of his Managers' License offers him the 3 Draft Players that were assigned to Team A in the Draft .... the new manager accepts the offer and gets his 3 Draftees. This situation will only last from the Draft through until the last regular game of each season, after that all Draft Players 'links' with the team are cut and they go into the Player Database as potential Free Agents. I know I'll regret asking this but .... Do you like this idea ? |

it wouldn't be a barrier for a newbie, it would actually help them (as they'd get 3 Draftees .... that they wouldn't get currently) |

Please read the suggestion again, but ignore the bit about Manager License. The suggestion is actually aimed to help New managers (if they join during the season they get 3 draft players). The only reason I mentioned incorporating the Manager License restriction was as a way of trying to establish whether a New Manager was likely to stick around (they've done the manager license) or be here today and bot tomorrow (they haven't done the manager license). |

Pete I think you read the whole suggestion as "don't give new managers who joined a few days prior to the draft any draft picks until they have completed their managerial license".
Whereas sh8888 suggests the opposite "giving new managers who joined a few days AFTER the draft a chance to have 3 draft players by completing the managerial license". So even these "unlucky" managers who joined late can have a shot at 3 great players and not wait a whole season out of bad timing. |

Does that mean I'm entitled to 3 draft players too?  |
