Apologies in advance, but I'm a bit of a pedant when it comes to English language grammar/vocabulary.
The following section of the Gamecenter commentary grates with me, it's just incorrect use of English (sorry  )
14:02 1 and 10 to go on own 33, Roosevelt Reid (OC) snaps the ball to Ryan Norwood (QB), Omar Elder (HB/C) gets the ball, he starts running over the left end, Josef Strnad (DE/L) breaks through, Petr Jelínek (OLB/L) goes for the blitz, Efren Bittner (TE/R) blocks, Omar Elder (HB/C) was not sucessful tackled by Josef Strnad (DE/L), Dezider Odehnal (DE/R), Omar Elder (HB/C) breaks the tackles of the Leo Mikulík (OLB/R), there is no SS who could tackle him, Omar Elder (HB/C) tackled by Vít Žácek (CB/R), forward progress: 15 yards, New first down (Big I formation vs. 5-3-3) There are several errors as follows :- sucessful ..... should be......... successfully tackles ....... should be ......... tackle (as there is only one tackle/tackler mentioned in the clause between the two commas, therefore it's singular and not plural) the ........ is extraneous and should be removed. So, this section of the commentary should read as follows :- Omar Elder (HB/C) was not successfully tackled by Josef Strnad (DE/L), Dezider Odehnal (DE/R), Omar Elder (HB/C) breaks the tackle of Leo Mikulík (OLB/R), Last edited on 2012-08-14 16:54:05 by sh8888 |

The correct use of commas and full stops would be nice too
If thats all you have to whine about SH8888 the garden must be pretty rosy on the Northern Riviera.  |
