I would like to have teams I just played auto-scouted (no cost). So I can see all there skills at that moment in time (only the ones that got onto the field).

So paid scouting would then only be needed for the TM and teams not played b4. Or if you wanted a more up to date report on division rivals.

Don't personally like it. It gives your division rival a ton of information right away. You play your division twice a season. In addition all the friendlies would give you information too. Why do you want everyone to know each other's player information so easily?

Because it's realistic.

All the coaches from either side get to see each others players first hand so surely that should count as scouting?

I won't get into the "how it is real or not" thing but I'll just say I don't personally like it as I prefer the mystery a bit.

It begs the question of "what is scouting"?

Can an accurate Scouting report come from 1 game? Does a level 20 Scout Report represent watching film on a player from 3 or 4 games minimum?

Maybe if you have been in the same division for a minimum of 4 games or so (including a previous season), then you can purchase a Team Scouting Report for maybe $20k or so after you have played that team?

That will never happen, sorry!

The limited scout reports are there, since you cannot react during gameplay. We need some surprises during the game, because without them it would be boring.

The stats about the team already on offer via the HOF and league rankings should give you enough insight to be able to make informed decisions about changing tactics/playbooks without needing to know all player individual stats - so glad Pete has declared irrevocably this will never happen!

It was a suggestion that sounded like manna from heaven for a Lazy Manager who runs his team on Autopilot.
There have been various suggestions before that are very 'Autopilot' ... and similar to flying your battle-of-britain Spitfire on Autopilot, these suggestions have all been shot down in flames.

Thankfully.

Looks like this is a no go idea but anyway.

You can scout 40 players for $100k. That is about what you'd need to do to scout most of a team.

But think about how tedious that is. You end up with a bunch of emails that don't even have the position in the title.

So why not be able to buy a "team scouting report" if -

1/ that team is in your league
2/ You have played at least 6 games or so in that league (as has the team you wish to scout)

Since, via TV etc, you already know a lot about other teams, especially in your division, maybe you could have something like -

Scout division rival - $50k
Scout Conference rival - $75k
Scout League rival - $100k

And then you can simply s e l e c t players from their roster and see the skills. This stays forever but does not u p d a t e over time - you only get the info as it was when you paid for the report. Maybe it could expire after exactly 1 season.

This would be a huge disadvantage for promoting or relegating teams, they could not act like the others in their league before gameday 7 - based on your numbers. This can only result in another NoGo then. You will agree?
