What about speed for OL? Is anything considered too low?

Does speed count for a DE? Or only Str/Ag? Again, is any speed considered too low for a DT/NT?

How about lobbying the devs to tell us what does nothing for each position?

I don't need to be told how significant each skill is but to not know what has no effect at all seems stupid.

Anyway, since Agility is a part of physicals, I'd guess it effects all but punters and kickers - or might it even effect them?

This.

I'd guess .... sums it up nicely.

I'd prefer not to guess

The player with highter level of agility have better rating.

evidence ?

tell me which player(s) and I'll scout him and see

I am sorry, but I can't help You now.
Now I have 2 OL players with rating 3.
But the 1-st is the strongest OL player with strenth 49,7
The 2-nd have intelligece 47,2
And I have one OL player with rating 2. But he is real my worst OL man.
All others have rating 2,5.

This subject has been mentioned on-and-off a few times, occasionally as a subject in it's own right, and more often than not during one of those thread-hijackings that seem to be numerous and happen often in the RZA forums ( I blame Sfniner ) ..... anyway .....

2 simple questions :-

(1) Do you think Agility is a big deal for O-linemen ?

(2) Have you any evidence that Agility helps/doesn't help O_linemen ?

I seem to remember that even the great Solana_Steve mentioned in his Coaches Corner that he wasn't sure if agility was useful for O-Linemen.

I also seem to remember that Dark_Wing was convinced that his O_Linemen had good player ratings because their agility was well-trained.

Go for it .... tell me what you think

Given you can't see the plays just a description - you'll be hard pressed to find any evidencethat any skill works.

Think I asked this about strength for OL - people were saying, you can't play OL in RZA without 40/42/45/47 strength delete as appropriate. When asked if anyone had seen any evidence that a low strength guy can't play OL - no one could. It was just assumed that because you need to be strong in RL to play the position you must be here.

I have just 3 OL players with strenth 40+...

I used to subscribe to the stereotypical theory of the perfect O-liner .... immensely strong, ridiculously high blocking skills etc etc etc ......

but then one day I scouted a player in Dragons 1.1 . I don't know why I scouted the guy, probably because I'd just played against him and he'd done well.
I was absolutely stunned ... this player was very high up the list for pancakes in the league ... yet when I looked at him, at first sight he appeared to be the most unlikely candidate for O-Line that I've ever seen. I never really got to the bottom of that mystery either.

That's why I've now got a healthy disregard for some of the views that I see in the Forums along the lines of ... "Skill X must be used by Player position Y " ..... oh yeah, must it really ?... who says ? how do you know ? have you got any convincing evidence ? . I also remember scouting one or two of Pete's players and that put seeds of doubt in my mind, although as I said in a previous thread, I think there may be a degree of smokescreen to Pete's team, so I won't be taking that as a prototype.

The manual suggests its important for blocking

Where is this? The manual glossary says:

Agility
Agility helps carrying the ball and avoiding tackles and blocks and sacks.

Maybe its how I'm reading this, but is it...

Agility helps carrying the ball and avoiding tackles and avoiding blocks and avoiding sacks.

-or-

Agility helps carrying the ball and avoiding tackles and making blocks and making sacks.

Really wondering why agility is not important for coverage...seems like that is a total oversight.

BTW, I think agility does affect salary.

It does... you are correct.

But it's a common misconception that it doesn't .... both here and in G*I .... the only difference between the 2 games is that Agility is a random cap here whereas in G*I it's trainable up to the soft-cap level based upon the player's talent.
