I found this in the game I play right now:
10:57 2 and 3 to go on opp 5, Ralf-Dieter Ziegler (OC) snaps the ball to Pino Lippucci (QB), Pino Lippucci (QB) selected Toralf Günther (TE/R) as target, BES:1.06, DB:1.1, BE:1.166, pass, he passes inner right for 15 yards to him, intercepted by Ulrich Schmidt (OLB/L) on the opp 1 for inches (Shotgun 2 WR vs. 4-3-4) So, th pass went 15 Yards (i.e. to the back of the endzone), and was still intercepted at the 1 yard line? |

But in this case defender becomes a knee for touchback! |

More like the pass was "intended" to be for 15 yards to the back of the endzone where the receiver was, but it got intercepted at the 1 yard line? Or the 1 yard line was the end of the interception return (which is stupid for the same reason dark_wing wrote, but I don't think "take a knee" is in the engine yet). Not really a bug.
