The current mentor system is very basic, consisting of a list of agents who are willing to answer newbie questions.
My suggestion would be to create an opt-in list of all veteran agents (guys with full stadiums, perhaps?), and when a new player joins, they are automatically assigned a mentor. Mentors could be decided based on language spoken, or country of origin etc. There would be a note on the main page of the team saying they are mentoring / being mentored by a particular agent. Mentors could be rated for their helpfulness, and credit prizes could be given out to the agents that are the most helpful. The partnership could be cancelled at any time, by either party. - - - - - You could offer further rewards for this partnership, such as free friendlies between the teams, or loaning of selected players between the two teams, with the proper restrictions, of course. However, I understand that these features could be open to abuse by multi accounters, so I don't expect these extras to garner much support In which case, ignore them |

Not sure how it would be organised by the devs though but Im sure they will be able to tell you if its a viable option. I started with an unofficial mentor and have passed on those benefits of what I have learnt to other players without being an official mentor as such. But I like the idea just may need a little fine tuning |

Don't get me wrong, I like the way you put that in here...I just doubt it would help.
See, if a new manager joins, we know nothing about him. Does he need a mentor? Would he like to have one? Bloody noob or returning manager? And so on... And finally I agree, mentors should not get any incentives |

I can't remember but if each new player does we could add it to the message to go to the mentor forum if they are new to the game. Then if they are a noob they can look at the forum. |

I was just in a creative mood and wanted to get that idea out of my head Things tend to fester in there unless I get them out. |

i dont need incentives to mentor, i help when i can and if im online. i have had all nationalities ask me questions too, so language doesnt cause too many issues and as long as i have the general idea.
I dont want rating either and if this was implimented would only cause certain mentors being questioned. generally its always the same questions being asked from all the mails for mentoring i have been sent. nice idea to a point though. Last edited on 2012-09-05 16:06:51 by oddball |

I think that we are all mentors here. If someone posts a question it gets answered here. This is the most community centered sim site I've ever experienced.

I'm with Niner08 on this one. I play alot of browser based sports sims and the community here is the best by far.
