From the manual -

"If you create an incorrect Depth chart (too few players, too many players, no Depth chart) the engine will create an Ingame Depth chart (IDC) for you. In case you have too few or no players in your Depth chart, the engine will fill the IDC with randomly selected guys out of your roster and use them for playing the game. In case you have too many players in your Depth chart, the engine will cut the IDC until it meets the maximum roster count."

So then if we do not put the entire 55 players in the DC then the engine chooses the remainder for us.

So if you do not have enough CBs/SFs in the DC to cover ingame injuries, and you call 4-1/3-3, then you are in a lot of trouble!

...yes, as it would be in real life...if you are short of Linebackers, and you put -G.O.A.T- in, guess what would happen...

What´s the problem? You are not deep enough on a specific position. So that´s only a roster management problem.

It is like the raiders in the last game with their long snapper.

You have to restyle your roster that´s all. what do you want with 5 QBs???

sell or fire two of them and buy or create in your YA 2 CB´s and that solve your problem.

I have probably been lucky with this since I only have a 54 man roster atm so I have not been deceived and my main roster has been the feeder anyway. My roster is my DC in fact.

If you use the 4-1, you'd better have at least 5 CBs in the DC. If you use the 3-3, you'd better have at least 4 SFs in your DC.

This is making me seriously consider a self imposed 55 man roster limit.

Maybe my suggestion needs to become - allow some players in the DC to be marked as "play only if other players injured".

do you allways play 4-dime or 3-3-5?

This is a critical situation for a critical position.

How many people do you think are aware of this issue? Should they be in the dark about having an OL playing SF for them?

Other positions mostly have a lot of natural reserve. Even if I only have 8 OL in the DC, I'd still need to have 3 ingame injuries for this to become a problem - very unlikely. And not nearly as critical as for a CB or SF!

Normally, yes. Not a lot, but both are in my gameplans. I think I now know why we see TDs with little explanation - there was probably an OL where a DB should have been!

I'll show you my depth chart, and is should be sufficient to cover injuries and so on.

QB, QB
RB, RB, RB
FB,FB
TE,TE,TE
WR,WR,WR,WR,WR
OT,OT,OT
OG,OG,OG
C,C

DE,DE,DE, DE
DT, DT, DT,DT,DT
MLB,MLB,MLB
OLB,OLB,OLB,OLB
CB,CB,CB,CB,CB,
SS,SS
FS,FS

K
P
G,G
KR,KR

54 Is the number on my dc. I could cut 4 off there is I just doubled up someone at G or KR. I use the G and KR spots to get players to build up TC. I could even trim at dt or rb.

Bottom line, there is plenty of space to accommodate in game injuries.
