Now, where did I place those steroids?

its in MotY where the team lines up for a boost injection.

I can see it now - the "Dark Side of the Force" facility. Opens up the black market for the lucrative steroids market. Make a fortune or go to jail (no training for an entire season). We're on to something now!

How about using PC? If you s e l e c t to train PC an extra option comes up - trim down, bulk up, basic (where "basic" is the same as now).

trim down - increase agility or speed cap by 1, decrease strength cap by 1.
Bulk up - opposite of trim down.

You could have a central cap point for str and limit it to +-4. With ag and spd being limited to +-2. Maybe by default it could go ag,sp,ag,sp from centre. The point being that neither spd nor ag can go +-4, a bit of both.

Also, what will happen with the YA? No way is a player fully grown either vertically or horizontally at age 16.

Do we add facilities for this? Can we set weight training to bulk up, trim down, normal? Do we have diet?

what if you get a big back and you want a little one can you saw a few inches off just below the knee and sew him back up?

Or the other way round bring back the rack medieval england style?

im sure Pete wrote somewhere about no sarcasm but when mitchell johnson bowls one at a medium pace at a nice length just outside leg stump you can expect Pete to do this

The H/W issue seems to throw a wrench into this as there are always exceptions. Those exceptions increase when a system takes a player into account and makes them look better than they are couch -G.O.A.T- cough...

Seriously though, why use H/W at all if you want to a l t e r the factor of training?

I would suggest changing the suggestion a little bit...

If you had played GLB it would be easier to explain..

In that game players are created by a user and they s e l e c t the player type of that position. So, there are speedy wr's, possesion wr's, and essentially balanced wr's. There are pocket qb's, scrambling qb's, strong arm qb's. You get the idea.

Each position needs a little bit different skill set. So arm strength is more important to the strong arm qb than the pocket qb for example.

I AM NOT PROPOSING TO USE THIS EXACT IDEA.

I am proposing using part of it. How about if training was effected based on the position? For future sake a possibility could be that you choose your player to train a specific position type (IE power back vs speed back vs balanced back, or DE or DT or DE) and there are bonuses to those physical attributes that are in place.

Lastly, I think only physical skills should be included in any of these changes. They have a cap on them already (hidden of course) so the training wouldn't make them actually stronger or faster players, rather it would speed up the process of finding the cap.

The other reason I wouldn't want other skills to be in there is it would be bad for the evolution of this game. My 22 year old lb already is at 40 ish in most main skills and maxed in physical strength and speed. Players would be too expensive if you could just train the skills faster.

Remember there would also be a penalty for other skills. Couldn't be just bonus or else it would defeat the purpose. Hybrid players should be hard to come around. Your 22 YO LB is a perfect example, a guy who with a young age is already like that. In my humble opinion it should be harder to have players at such a young age already so developed.

GLB also as H/W play a part when you build your player, it either gives him a bonus or a penalty in the beggining, or nothing if the player fits the average.
