So is there any inherent bonus for passing out of the shotgun or penalty for running out of the gun?
There certainly doesn't seem to be a penalty - - i see plenty of FBs rumbling for good yardage out of the shotgun sets. Steve SD Blitz |

i don't think there would be since the gun can be used for both even though you would think it offers better passing, but i guess from a defense standpoint, you're not expecting the run out of it so rb and fb can get good yardage out of it

As long is not possible to utilize FB by order i would not apply bonus or negative based on formation
At the moment get FB in play is possible only by Formation Shot gun, or when rushing through middle in Wishbone I can not rush through middle with RB or over flank with HB in Wishbone e.g. per default, so i would not penalize the other formations Especiall it is also not possible to pass to FB and because of this FB would become then a total irrelevant position |

Passing is easier to complete in the shotgun just because of mismatches
And with the new engine improvement for season 6 the shot gun works even better as the 4 wide when your opponent does not run the dime. |

If it will be a replica of whats currently being used for Friday friendlies, id say that is highly arguable - IMO. |

The dime is bitter/sweet - good backfield but 2 wasted DTs vs pass. The shotguns only have the FB wasted and only as a receiver.

Understand that Pete, but having not been around that much in depth over the recent weeks, i wouldnt want to start rambling on if my current thoughts are based on inaccuracies. Need to do some research and preparation first before i launch into detail. Sorry for the flippant, throw away comment though. |

Since the subject is raised, I'd like to give the new engine a big thumbs up. It's ready to go imo.
And now to get more back in line with the subject, I believe the shotguns will be highly used! |
