I got enough attention by winning in the past even if it wasn't much. jack6 wrote:

Why that? I mean, either you play with your A Team and then I wouldn't see why someone should be ashamed, losing against a strong team. Or you play with a stupid lineup and then such a team as Atlantes will probably win anyway. But what would such a win mean? By the way .... your "I may retire" quotes do sound like a Favre-Rehearsal. For THAT I would be ashamed. No, I never play "with a stupid lineup". At least not in official match. Decided to stay at least for the end of season, so I play at least on default. Just mean losing to someone who lost a motivation to do anything isn't same as losing to one of the strongest teams prepared the best manager could. |

Starting to narrow the field down....good close games this week!
Landru Athletics defeat China Chimps 28-21. China was up 21-0 at the half. Without the aid of turnovers Landru scored on 3 straight drives to tie it up. One more drive in the 4th quarter sealed it. Amazing. Dutch Lions defeat Pako Team 16-13. With the game tied 13-13 the Lions kicked a field goal with 1:11 to go to win it. Pako did get the ball back but went 3 and out. Rara Avis defeats Penn. State 36-28 in over time! Penn state tied up the game in the 4th quarter with 4:50 to go. Rara almost pulled it out in regulation with a drive to the 7 yard line. With 1 and 7 to go and time running out the rb rushed to the 2 yard line. Time for over time. Although, this could be a learning experience to have that situation in your play book to kick the field goal. After a few back and forth stalled drives Penn State had a chance but missed a 26 yard field goal. The next posession was a long drive by Rara for a TD. High Fives defeat Majalorca Pigs 10-9. Down 10-3 to start the 4th quarter Majalorca drives for a field goal to bring it to 10-6. They get the ball back and drive down the field converting two 4th downs along the way. They get to the 17 yard line, it is 4th down, and two seconds to go. They kick a field goal as time runs out instead of going for it. Maybe they would have to the TD maybe not. |

Our form has improved lately so I thought we'd have a sniff, but not by that score. It was all going swimmingly until the next round was announced: High Fives (Away) ouch ! Congratz to sfniner08 (where is your nice sum-up-the-gameday-post ), after a first quarter with 8 consecutive punts he was the lucky bastard to start the second quarter and he marched down the field for a td...in chess you would say he had the tempo. I responded immediately but was never in front and kind of lucky to reach overtime with a 41yd-run in the fourth quarter.
I really would liked to have had a shot to win the game in the OT getting possession first...but that wasn´t the case and the niners simply marched over me (again ) and finished the game... Well, according to the rushing yards per attempt our teams were even, but watching the game it actually doesn´t felt like that... |
