Atm there are a max of 4 teams per 2 x div II leagues that can be promoted every season - so a max of 8.

It would be good if there was a way to attempt to clear a division or 2 in that div I league so that all the promoted are in a "newly promoted division".

This might make promotion more attractive.

Maybe in div I we could have 1 conf like a veteran conference, and the other for new and struggling teams?

wouldnt that distort the league? and what happens if one of these sides are a lot better than the other 7 they end up in an easier division where they could concievably win 6 games without too much hassle. four or five more wins would almost guarantee a playoff place.

Again not one of your better ideas buddy keep trying though because they can be entertaining

That happens in most divisions anyway - no matter whether 1.1, 2.1 or 2.2 - very rarely is there a division where it is competative between 2 or more teams thru the 16 games - maybe 1 or 2 per league? Certainly if youre expecting 12/13/14 games needed to win a Division.

I see what Hosh is driving at - but because of the range of timescales that managers required its gonna be nigh on impossible to balance teams up according to rating - it would be great to see all the elite teams in one league, the next 32 teams in the next league and so on - i think all teams want to play teams of a similar standard rather than extremes (he says 20 minutes away from a League game against the Flying Donkeys!) but unless you abandoned the traditional NFL style of leagues in preference to a more soccer type of league maybe then i dont see a way around it.

You gave me an idea - instead of 2 Div II leagues, have a Div II and III?

Similar to a recent suggestion but without altering the NFL 32 team per league format.

But I'm drifting now.

Back to the original idea - you have 8 teams per season that either are newly promoted or survived relegation.

So let's say 4 per conference.

So in each conference you have a "strugglers" division for these teams. And they can always play their inter-conference games vs the other struggler division - so that's 10/16 games vs similar teams.

Ive mooted that before - so League I teams get relegated to II, but is the 'Premier' League - League II teams gets promoted to I but relegated to III, whilst League III teams get promoted to II or stay there.

I like it - i think youll still have top teams and bottom teams per League - but as said, thats the case in any league and someone has to win, someone has to be bottom - it gives teams an extra level to go through in preparation for I, and of course you could still band the finances accordingly - so League I gets between say 80 - 100% attendances, League II say between 60-80% and League III 40 - 60% - or something like that - with actual attendances affected by league form.

Drafts would be the same - just more 'structure' to the leagues?

Yeah, it would concentrate same level teams that much better.

And I think that all teams should be ranked (as they are) and the bot flush should be compulsory and based on that rank.

Is the bot flush random atm or based on rank as above?

its random and you can opt in and out!

remember the game is still very young and growing to the point that div 3s will be open soon anyway hopefully and then newer managers will have another step and more seasons to get to the top but for now bouncing up and down is the middle ground just use the hard games to learn and to develop and youwill improve and come back stronger next time...

And had I bothered to consult the manual I would have seen that in less time than it took me to ask!

Anyway, I think I'd rather this than relegation games. So take the bottom 6 or 8 teams in division 1, plus the bots, and promote as many teams from div 2 as needed (without the option for managers to avoid this either).
