Oh there is a salary cap and it is a coming....just wait until teams such as mine start hitting the 3million per u p d a t e player salary level. It will get very tight indeed. I've posted several posts and threads about how the money will catch up to us using examples. It might take one or 2 more seasons but it is coming.

To be perfectly honest, I see it as a challenge to catch this teams, and I don't want help from rule changes. The game is equal for all, and your suggestions will actually create the opposite effects. We don't want the cap between div 1 and div 2 getting bigger, and we certainly don't want it to be harder for new teams who get less experience gains than div 1 teams.

The experience bonus I speak of does not need to be huge - maybe as little a 5% or so. Just enough to make it very little difference between being at the bottom of div I or the top of div II.

Again, a poorly performing div I manager can presently see that if he was in div II he'd clearly be better off solely due to finances. There is no benefit to him being in div I at all in that case.

And for a good team in div II the same thing applies. If they can see that being promoted right now is going to be bad for them, then they tank. Whereas if they saw that the probable financial droppoff was at least partly offset by something else (exp bonus) then the whole tanking issue is solved.

Again, you get a ton of money from playoffs in 3 comps, so you can afford a better roster, and the cycle continues.

Your cap is higher than everyone elses!

It is true in real life too. the better you are the more you make in postseason earnings.

In "real life" there's a Salary cap.

And btw, the concept is that the "cap" is the same for everyone.

Don't get me wrong, and hosh: this is not directed to you!

I believe a suggested function should be as clear as possible, not for the implementation, but for the documentation - the manual.

We failed here and there, but I am trying to avoid such things as much as I can.

We just shouldn't make suggestions "out of the head", like "change ticket income on even tuesdays, but only if the sun is shining in Capetown, and the Hawks won over the the Packers..."

I guess you understand what I mean.

So maybe it helps if we follow one rule: A suggestion to change "deep things" should always come along with the manual part to describe it. By this, everybody could judge if it is easy to understand, and therefore the gameplay stays "easy", or least doesn't become worse than at the moment.

Ok, the manual -

All division 1 players will get 10% more exp (than a div II player) for every play they are on the field in a div 1 game.

In all playoff games (League, SC and CofC), the ticket income is the same as for league friendlies. But there will be prize money of $5M for runners up and $10M for Champions in each of the 3 finals.

Hope that's clearer.

a team in Div 1 has enough advantages over a team in div 2 why make it more so.

in RL even if this isnt a player in either div would gain xp its just the quality of the opposition thats slightly different.

I didnt read all of it but i think you were pointing towards penalties for teams like miners, tanking isnt very sportmanlike but he still fields a team and pays his players wages. you want a boost finish bottom and get big drafts.

Sure, but what about revenue?

You get the good draft but you just missed the playoffs (probably for SC and CofC too). Maybe your team is already developed to the point where you have little money left over so you have no room for the 3 great players, or you need to dump another 3 and you have gained nothing.

Meanwhile, another team in your league just got $70M in playoff revenue that you didn't, gets a decent draft, and has plenty of cash to run a squad far superior to yours for the next season at least!

And on and on the cycle will probably go.

I am bottom of my league, i will probably come out better from it than all my seasons finishing a div winner. i miss the playoffs but the drafts will be higher grade. if i couldnt keep them i would still make a huge profit on the TM negating the other teams 70m.
if i want ot keep them i can always sell YA players and probably still make more than 70m. this again comes down to not seeing any real disadvantage from finishing bottom of the div or tanking.
