Baseball the one game ive never got into - have tried but just failed - just - dare i say - very boring. Full agree with wadders - the teams you get into when they arent domestic sports are biased towards the teams you first see on tv or get used to on XBox or PlayStation games - ive always had a soft spot for the Philadelphia Flyers at NHL, though my Redskins passions forces me to support the Capitals - and basketball was all about Magic Johnson so LA Lakers for me. I liked Magic Johnson also but I also liked Larry Byrd at the Celtics and I think it was Isiaah Thomas at the Pistons. |

Great to see someone else disliking tennis, I can't stand the sport. As a kid I was an Aston Villa and Warwickshire CC fan, but now I just follow the national teams, preferring to blow my money on taking part in sport rather than watching it - the only sport I watch live now is rallying/rallycross.... but I'd love to see the Eagles play at least once! My own mediocre attempts at sporting prowess may have to go on the back burner over the next few years though, as my 8 year old daughter is currently proving to be invincible at Judo, and in just over a year she has already accumulated an impressive array of trophies - including an invitation to compete with a GB squad in Holland (which we unfortunately had to decline). We train together as a family, which I hope encourages her to keep working at it - as kids that age can be so fickle. There's a crucial moment next weekend - she will be fighting for the 1st time at Under 28kgs, having been in the Under 25kgs class up until now - potentially against girls 1-2 years older than her. Can she cope with losing, as she is not used to it? Sorry mate I must of missed this post. Congratulations on your daughters success. Losing will hurt like hell but the bug has bitten mate so Im sure she will bounce back stronger and better. Good luck anyway |

I get lots of that, it's the most common answer to not like Baseball... it's to boring, takes to long between action.. are usualy the answers I get from friends. I like it, always did, guess it really takes passion to be a baseball fan, because it's one of those things, that you either love or hate, don't think there is a in between with Baseball. |

I only say 'dare i say' boring because i love cricket - a game which can take 5 days to complete and they have to stop for lunch and tea on a daily basis!!! Just a lack of understanding i suppose - i like watching the highlight reel of the great hits, catches and plays but every time ive tried to watch a live game just seems very mundane and ho hum...yet i go mad when ppl say that about the NFL - takes 4 hours to play 60 minutes and full of stop and adverts....peasants!!! |

LMFAO you really did pick them this season.
Did you know thay we have a PGA license holder in Admirals 2.2? I have a passion for Liverpool FC, Worcs County Cricket Club . I am Tranmere fan myself but live in Worcester and about 5 mins away from the ground. stopped playing footy a couple of years ago and needed a gap filler so my passion is now golf and mountain biking. |

Nope this season isnt a vintage one for me thats for sure. I played cricket competitively for the first time when I was 9 and I was living in Kidderminster at the time so it made sense to support my local side. They was good then with Beefy in the side |

Agree 100%, cricket is one of the finest tactical battles imaginable, guile, concentration, skill, banter, and wonderfully dry humorous commentary.... so many heroes, so many stories, brilliant. Baseball is turd. Basketball is worse. Last edited on 2012-09-29 12:54:15 by JonnyP |

Basketball is worse. couldnt agree more - as much as i love being at a test match - listening to the Sky commentators makes any cricket worth watching - just a day of taking the piss out of each other, laughing at people in the crowd - David Lloyd is the best of them all - but Gower, Hussein, Botham, Atherton, Holding, Warne, Willis - even good old Charles Colville - artists them all. Great description of the game though mate - captured it all perfectly. |

Sadly I don't have Sky Sports, so I rely on TMS on the radio - messrs Agnew, Blowers, CMJ, Marks, et al.
