New teams could get 5 draft players of their choice. They could simply s e l e c t what positions they want and then have them allocated with slightly random skills/ages.
In their 1st draft they get a further 5 draft players and in the 2nd draft 4 and then the std 3 from their 3rd draft onwards. There could be a provisional draft to accomodate this. Also, maybe the YA needs to cut off the 16/17yo. This means it only takes a new team 3 seasons to get up to speed on this aspect also. It would be good if the rates of training saw teams needing all their money to pay players/coaches after no more than about 4 full seasons. So after 4 seasons you should be able to mix it with just about anyone - finer points aside. |

Additional draft picks aren't such a good idea, imo. |

This could solve the "managers don't finish their license thing, too What is your argument against the extra newbee draft? |

The Draftees for New Managers has already been suggested (more-or-less) ....... Here |

New players would have as many draft choices than I do despite being here only a short time. Will it be back dated so everyone who already has their licence gets compensatory picks? A team that completed their licence recently wouldn't benefit, whereas completely new teams that joined after the implementation would be far better off. I'm still annoyed that I joined not long after the S3 draft. I've had to wheel and deal in the TM to stay competitive. However, you could argue I have already made the climb (over .500 in top league) and it only took a season. So does the climb need to be accelerated? Last edited on 2012-10-04 18:24:59 by Firenze |

Agreed. if such a thing was implemented then some compensation would be appropriate I believe. The younger teams would get more picks, the older less and the oldest probably none. No one would overtake anyone due to this - just narrow gaps which is the whole point of the entire idea. |

1/ Can you get to the top 2/ How long will it take I am convinced the answer to 1 is a definite YES. But atm the answer to 2 is TOO LONG. What is TOO long for you? In the other football game I needed 7 seasons (=2,5 years) to be only close to the top. Its very long and I had to be patient. The key is, that you need challenges all the way to be not bored. |

Also, when a noob begins, relative to the draft, should be considered also. Maybe the season could be split into 3 and if they join in the 1st third after the draft they get an extra 2 draft players, 2nd third 1 extra draft player.
For me, the basic idea here is to have ~ 20-25 draft players on a team after ~ 4 full seasons. From starting players, drafts and the TM. Then you are ready to compete and deep into the guts of the management instead of playing Patience. |
