I noticed since some seasons, that NT miss more tackles than DE. Why it is so difficult to play NT?

Compare these 2 players:

Stats of NT compared to DE
Strength +1,5
Tackling +2
Footwork +1
Vision -8
Positioning +7
INT +1
TW +1

Stats season NT: 130 good tackles, 102 missed tackles, 56% success
Stats season DE: 161 good tackles, 52 missed tackles, 75% success

Stats carrer NT: 347 good tackles, 234 missed tackles, 60% success
Stats carrer DE: 358 good tackles, 129 missed tackles, 74% success

Is the lower vision the reason? Play most teams with the best OL at center? Is it in general more difficult to make a tackle as NT? What are your observations?

Don't forget the fact that every defense formation carries DEs, but not everyone is having a NT on the field...

This is true. In 50% of my regular games i selected 72% fomations with 3 DL, where the Defender played NT. In these game the successrate for a good tackle was 45%. In the other games I selectes with 68% 4 or 5 DL. In these formations the Defender played DT and his successrate for good tackles was 73%. For sure the defender played not on every down. But for me is clear, that the defender performs better at DT, than at NT.

Why my DT fails so many tackles?? The percentage of NT and DE round 75% of success, but the DT are my headache. Someone else happens?

Maybe a lot of managers make their C the best and most INT OL?

Maybe, since DTs are in the thick of things, the engine makes them miss more to simulate the effects blocking FBs and double teams would have on them?

And so maybe it has to do with teamwork - I guess the TW factor is greater for interior OL then for the OTs since the interior players have players on both sides of them.

So even though the stats say a C never blocked vs a 4-3 D, his effect is still felt?

You are right. TW may be the reason, but for Buffalo the defender performs better at DT, than at NT.

My experience has been that the tackle rate of NTs & DTs are about the same, but usually less than DEs. Likewise, my OGs seem to block better than my OTs.

So it seems like the offense has the advantage on the interior and the defense on the edge.
