Consider manager A. He decides he will spend money to get enough decent players in place across his entire team and then make sure the physicals are all acceptable, along with INT and TW for the appropriate positions.
He then decides he'll round out the players for a few seasons. He has no further need for TM activity so he saves a ton of money and also keeps players salaries low. Then at some point in time he decides his players are "rounded" enough and he focuses training on all the primaries. A few seasons later he is an unstoppable force. His player salaries are thru the roof but he has huge coffers to handle this for 2 or 3 seasons or so. Should this be an acceptable tactic or should there be a salary cap? |

why not, they will run out of money sooner or later after their 5 mins of glory. every one has to decide when they stop training money intensive stats on players.
wage caps just give the plain stupid another buffer and helping hand. |

Scenario - your in a division where you're holding your own, progressing nicely and thinking you might have a shot at winning your division in the upcoming season. Maybe even the conference and SB.
Suddenly another team in your division does as suggested and, although you can still shoot for a wildcard birth, for the next 3 seasons or so you can forget about anything else. Only another team doing the same thing at the same time has a chance to be conference/SB champion. |

Every strategy that enables someone to beat Hosh should be stopped

Consider this: Those savers might not get a shot at a trophy for several seasons, since they decided to build with a slower speed. For me,this is a totally OK scenario. |

whats your point? Not really making any point and I don't really have a definite opinion either way atm. But I'm leaning toward not liking this. Contrary to what oddball said, I think any "stupid" manager could win with this tactic. It concerns me that one might need to do this in order to have a chance. So he who saves the most wins? |

There is nothing wrong with this tactic. Everyone is entitled to build their team and strategy the way they want.
A team that spends lots of money on the TM bringing in already built players will get their shot at glory and a team saving over a number of years to have 1 or 2 years chance of winning everything will both have equal opportunities. If everyone approached the game in the same way with the same strategy it would be pretty boring. |

First people were angry that veteran coaches were spending a lot money on the transfer market, taking all the top players, but spending their money in the process. Now someone's upset that teams are saving their money, but building up their players slowly. Sounds like every strategy in this game is evil and must be stopped. I see no point in this.
