I doubt that would even be possible. Interesting thought though. Lets see if Mr Hosh finds that acceptable

Possible or not it is a terrible idea. You build up your stadium and it finishes later in the season, but since you didn't spend a lot because you had a small stadium it means with a max stadium you have a limited way to spend your cash? No thanks, as an owner I'll spend as I see fit for my team.

If you are going to spend as you see fit then its a veto to any salary cap then ?

Your example is a pretty bad one as most teams do their stadium first way way before a salary cap would become relevant unless they train very badly.

In the end their is a salary cap, just not a hard one. There is no real need to create a hard cap right now. I've posted the math several times as to why you don't need a hard cap. You can't afford to have more than a handful of players maxed in a skill. I think having even one with maxed skill level will hurt you.

IMO, I think the cycle won't be a huge swing as some would suggest. It would be more like there is a team that has a majority of it's players at 20-40 skill level. They save up and train a few guys up to the upper echelon of players to get them an edge. When the cash dries up they will be forced to train a new set and sell the old set. It will be a cycle but the ups and downs need not be extreme. It isn't as though you'd start from scratch. If you were to use your YA as a way to make money then it would be even less. Even in the pro's the cap has routes around it through signing bonuses and such. No good is going to come through a hard cap.

It is laughable and shows complete ignorance of the entire concept of a salary cap.

So many children of democracy - free to be dumb (freedumb - in joke amongst the gods), mastered by none!

define "salary cap"

I might be wrong, but I thought the concept was that the "cap" is the same for ALL teams.

But I guess if everyone wants to exercise freedumb of speech (i.e. talk crap) then fine.

Let's just use words and concepts any old way we like!

(again shaking head)

Hosh, look at this, please. In my forecast for the next season I see:
Income: 1) tickets - 135 mil. 2) sponsorship - 6 mil. So I will have 141 mil. This is my "salary cap". But this cap is flexible, because I can reach playoffs, sell players, fire coaches etc. I think it's good that there's such flexible "salary cap" here
