Only 3.x for the moment...

I have this concern, that with so many spots open, the newly registered teams would be very spread out amongst 3.x leagues leaving them to play against bots most of the time and thus possibly bore them. Is it possible to limit the registration for a limited amount of time only to 3.1 then to 3.2 when 3.1 gets let's say 10 teams and so on?

I think noobs should be able to go straight to a div 2 team if there's spots.

And yes, once they fill, it should be recommended at signup that they go into a "filling" div 3 league instead of one based purely on game starting time. The "filling" league could be the one they are directed to by default maybe.

Like you said, something to prevent baron Div 3 leagues.

Tweaking a bit the invite system? Making it so that the invitee gets invited directly to the league of the inviter?
Because with 128 open spots 3.x leagues we'd need an increased amount of new players to fill them equally. Perhaps this will be a less of a problem in leagues that attract more players (dragons/admirals), but the low influx of players to leagues like seadevils could result in leagues with 2,3 teams each.

Well I think introducing DIV 3 was a little hasty. We're close to 768 managers sure, but it's been going back and forth between 700 and 730 the last few weeks.

Wrong, you forget the wait-list. Managers that applied for a spot, but did not join yet. I have to provide en ough spots in the loweest league level for them...

However, we could wait till coming mideason, and open the elvel then, which means no SC games for newbees...or we deal with the current situation. The choice I had to make was easy...

Some users sign, and come back few hours/days later to get their team. Those users are "the waiting list"...signers not claimed their team yet

How many do we have on the waiting list?

Out of curiosity how many sign up not s e l e c t a team and then come back? A percentage would probably be more accurate
