Dime 4DL MLB 4CB 2SF (easy to complete short passes though, but very tough to break a big one)
3-3-5 3-4-4 (very strong against short passing game if LBs are not blitzing) 4-3-4 5-2 (better deep coverage than 3 DBs, awful short) 4-4-3 5-3-3 Goalline D Shotgun 4 WR Shotgun 2 WR Pro set (RBs are better set for pass protection than in I, and easier to run routes when RB receving is implemented) I-formation Goalline O (peope are ranking this higher than I would - it is a primarily running formation with TE's main role to be blocking OLBs). It is OK for short, quick passing plays into the flat though. The key here is not to make it exploitable as a killer formation. Wishbone Big I formation |

More information about passing
Shotgun 4 WR (4 players can to catch the football (4 WR) Shotgun 2 WR (4 players can to catch the football (2 WR + 2 TE) and FB as "boby-guard" of QB) Goalline O (4 players can to catch the football (2 WR + 2 TE) I-formation (3 players can to catch the football (2 WR + 1 TE) and FB as "boby-guard"of QB) Big I formation (3 players can to catch the football (1 WR + 2 TE) and FB as "boby-guard" of QB) Pro set (3 players can to catch the football (2 WR + 1 TE) Wishbone (2 players can to catch the football (2 WR) and FB as "boby-guard"of QB) |

Could anybody explain me again why the 5-2 defense should be better against pass than 4-4-3 and 5-3-3?
For sure there are two SF instead of only 1. So one more DB, but what´s up with the real coverage? Who covers the TE´s of SG 2, Pro Set, Big I, I Formation? In the current engine TE´s are covered by OLB´s. but in 5-2 there is no OLB. So only the SF´s could cover the TE´s right? When the SF´s cover the TE´s there are only one on one situations. In 4-4-3 and 5-3-3 you have the OLB´s who cover the TE´s and definitly one free SF in the Backfield. If you say the SF cover the deep pass in the 5-2 the TE´s are allways wide open targets. |

But in order to get more parity with real life, that is not correct. |

Precisely, and the way I read Pete's question is 'rank them how they SHOULD be', not rank them how they currently are in RZA

But some are more likely for pass and others for rush...You know me long enough - I don't think in black & white |
