This looks like you mean to say that low TW players make good wr/rb/db, but i thought low TW players were always throwaways.
Should I keep players with low TW?

By low TW I'm thinking 30-40. Anything less than 30 I'm not really interested.

The reason lower TW guys make better wr/rb/db is because those positions require less skills so less training is required. For example DL v DB; they both need pretty much the same skills except a DL also requires footwork so it makes sense to put the guys with better teamwork there.

Aquashift, don't compare yourself with a veteran team. holmeboy's demands are different than yours.
When selecting youth players, stick with high TW players (>40 ideally).
When deciding which of your senior players deserves a roster spot, go by age, TW, and current skill values.
Older players need higher TW to be of any use for you, because you have only so much time to train them.
If a younger guy has subpar TW (<25), take a look at his skills, if they are decent (~15 for nonphysicals, 28+ for STR/SP) keep him for a while around until you have better players to take over. Who knows, with time he may even develop into an important player for your team starter until he decides to retire.

I've been debating this for a while, because I almost never find 16 year olds with high teamwork, but what's more important, high teamwork or youth?

Let's take a look at some extreme examples, with the only differences being age and TW (just for fun: STR/SP 25, AGI 10, all other skills 10):

Player A, 16yrs old, TW 1
Player B 20yrs old, TW 50

A has no value whatsoever. B could be sold on the TM immediatly, or trained for a couple of seasons, before he would land on the TM, or be a back-up for your team.

So what's now more important?

Teamwork is clearly more important following your logic, but can we talk about something a bit less extreme?

Say you've got a 16 year old with 25-30 TW and you're consistently getting 18 and 19 year old youths with 40+ TW; who's going to come out of your YA looking better?

With 2/3 extra seasons of training the 16yo ainec.

You can argue that in the long run the 18/19 yo will be better, but at what stage? ~28 when he's close to retiring?

I'd much rather have more of a finished product come out of the YA so he can start getting snaps immediately, and start gaining experience immediately.

it depends a little on the skills allready there and caps which you don't know. generelly younger is better in this case as he also has more time to gain exp in the YA

ot oh if i have to chose between a 16yo with 29 tw and a 17yo with 41 tw i would take the 17yo. players with below 30 tw seem to be very hard to sell while 40+ teamwork gives quite a nice addition to the selling price more often than not

I always figured that TW = $$$, whereas Youth equals XP, and while everyone likes it, some of us would go to longer lengths to get it than others (I'm probably one of the craziest for XP), so I guess in determining youths that are close like in Chareos' example, I'd jump at the 17 Y/O if he had more experience to start than the 16 Y/O to make up for less time.

BUT IF your youth academy is fully built players gain exp too

That's the whole point of me taking the 17 Y/O, otherwise I go with the 16 Y/O because you get an extra season of development plus extra experience. So he's worth less on the market, but has more potential worth to me. I'd prefer a 16 year old with 40+ TW though, so I went out and bought one last season. It's going to be great.
