Then just write deflected I was offering an explanation of what it looked like. You could call it "deflected" if you'd like, but "passes defensed" or "passes defended" are the technical terms used because it is really more than just deflections. Just never heard of that before...not so important |

I don't know the quality of American football in Europe, but in the NFL, passes defensed/defended is referenced very often. It's used as a measure of how good of coverage a CB is providing over WRs, how good a DL is at reading and timing passes, and even helps a CB's pro bowl chances when their INT numbers aren't as high. |

I think Pete didn't meant to say the stat is unimportant, I think he meant to say that the fact that he never heard of it before is unimportant. Aldo I could be wrong, so I will let Pete clarify. As for the stat, naturaly it would bring alot of help in evaluating our secondary (and Lb's) for Broken up passes, and help to know which of our DL is good at batting balls at the LoS for example (aldo that isn't coded (yet) to my knowledge at least). |

I also do not intend to be rude, so hopefully I didn't come off as such. It's just part of being an American, I suppose. |

Exactly, the "unimportant" was not meant for the stats, was meant for the "I never heard of it" by myself...sorry, but my english, the lack of it, strikes sometimes..
