Atm, the rule with formations is balanced CBs which puts pretty much all Ds at a disadvantage vs the Big I. You end up with a CB that is really only useful as a run defender vs a sweep to his side. There is no WR for him to mark and he is largely wasted.

Should we have a special 1CB D?

Probably either a 5-3-3 or 4-4-3 (or both) with 1 CB and 2 SFs in either case. Maybe the OLB and/or SF are more outside biased (to cover sweeps) and so a little weaker vs inside plays?
