I think such Playbooks can confuse managers more than they would help them. Why do you want to roll the dice, if you have the chance to manage every situation on the field?
I think you have with the actual playbook desing so many opportunities to controll the game of your team. Wouldn't you be angry, if the engine s e l e c t the wrong play for you in a crucial situation? A good playbook has more than 50 lines and you have to spend some time to create a good playbook. You also have to adapt the playbook if thing went wrong. This should be a part of a managment game and not send your team on the field, call some plays, let the engine roll the dice and after 60 minutes your have a random result. |

Good point Buffalo. Maybe have a choice to s e l e c t 2/3 different plays for each senario. That way it'll be easier for a newbie to create a playbook and the more experienced managers can still have more control.

Well, in fact i strongly disagree Game will not choose bad play in crucial situation, because it's You who put a chance for this play Yourself. The game chooses one of prepared plays, with distribution rate prepared by You. If you dont want any flexible, put 1 play only and set it to 100%. But many people would like to trick a bit, with f.e. throwing a pass instead of rushing in every 5th attempt at 3&4 for example. Right now You have 2 options: 1) Play exactly this option with playbook 2) Play totally random play with game orders (allowing you to tighten randomness to formation) This gives You something in the middle. You can prepare some plays for every situation, and also make some rotation between it. I know that making a playbook is a lot of work, I'm one of the guys that are little freaky about it (mine has right now about 70 lines) but it doesn't change the fact, that every 3&1 will be always Big I-Formation with rush attempt. I still want to make this play majority of time in this situation, but I would like sometimes to trick the defense and used some quick pass for example. Playbook doesn't allow me to do this. Game orders also not... So this is an easy solution to make your tactics more complex. |

Like this: <20 yards 3&1 Big-I run <30 yards 3&1 Proset run <40 yards 3&1 Big-I pass <50 yards 3&1 Big-I run <60 yards 3&1 Sg 4 WR pass .... or behind by 1-3, 3&1, Big-I run behind by more than 20, 3&1, Sg 4WR pass leading by 1-3, 3&1, Big-I pass leading by by more than 20, 3&1, Proset pass .... |

Goal distance is connected with the plays that I use to make for such distance, and time-management... |
