Or will we have "<= 30" ? At least this will provide a false sense of satisfaction this way.

False sense? How is it false exactly, since this will clearly state below or equal to the set number?

And that will make a difference, how?

Now - a FG will be attempted inside the 30

After - a FG will be attempted inside or on the 30. If I wanted it to do that now I can simply s e l e c t < 35. I could also be upset "after" because a drive might stall on the 31 and I don't kick a FG to win the game and so I come in here and say I want it now to be < 32.

Do you see? If pete changes this the actual effect is zero. It is purely psychological.

4, 9, 14, 19, 24, 29 etc. instead of 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 etc.

Tell me that makes sense to you

And yes, it might be psychological, where most teams draw that fine line at 50 yards for a FG attempt. Personally I wouldn't even try a 49 yarder at this point, only if the game depended on it. So why not have every 5 yards (since it's meant to increase by 5 yards anyway) as the basic rule?

So get pete to -

a/ put a bunch of "<=" in place of all the "<"

or

b/ change all the 5, 10, 15...... to 6, 11, 16........

And it is no doubt not that simple either.

Is it worth it?

From the manual (under playbooks)-

"1. Try a Field goal when in Overtime and less than 40 yards away from goal line "

This might not be as big a waste of time as the proposed draft changes, but it would be very close to a complete waste of time imo.

I'd prefer running backs that catch.

It's not purely psychological its standardising the playbook to match everything else to do with the game.

Kickoffs are made ON the 35 yard line
Touchbacks restart ON the 20 yard line
Redzone action starts ON the 20 yard line
1st and goal situations begin ON the 10 yard line

but the playbook runs at LESS THAN the x yard line

Is it me or is there an odd one out there? (and in here for that matter)

It is not just a small thing. We would have to change the import format, since all exported playbooks become invalid due a changed structure inside them.

You see, it is not only a bit tweaking on the front-end and the engine...that part could be done within one or two hours..

....and your point?

Ok, give me a specific example that you'd find unacceptable with the present situation?
