I think the defensive formations have more importance than it should have. The players skills are very underrated by the engine when we are using some formations. That's the reason for too many big plays. That's my feeling, I can be completely wrong but who knows.

After my game yesterday, my feelings are the exact opposite. Strong receivers with agility are hard to stop!

Yes you are right, when a receiver is better than your DBs there are nothing to do, but i'm talking about games against lower opponents.

If I have a great defense, it shouldn't matter (not much) what kind of defensive formation I'm using because my defense is better than his offense and I think that actually the formations are the most important thing of the game.

I don't know if you undertand what i try to say.

EDIT: typo

What you are trying to say (I think) is that you believe the 'Formation Relationship Model' is too dominant in the Match Engine Version 2

Yes, I understand.

If you call a 5-3 with only 1 SF, it doesn't matter how good he is if he's on the wrong side of the field.

I think a good D is still allowing less plays since it's harder to get past their LBs and CBs, but if that does happen with a single SF then...........

Formations get players into position, players make plays. It makes no difference how good you are if you're out of position.

I am never played with a calculator
My team developed "like for real life", all 5 seasons
My team has been competitive before and competitive now
I think no one can say that I have acted in support of the engine V1 or the engine V2.

Hey whats up here?
I spend 4 seasons building my team to the point of having a good team, then all of a sudden we have a new match engine and now I have a bad team.
Is this game gonna be like Grid-Iron now?

You still have a very good team. It didn't help that you just had two tough games against two other very good teams, that is, the defending league champion Hurricanes and the Niners who also had a 14-2 record in the regular season last season.

And look on the bright side, at least you did not lose yesterday (Tuesday) thanks to a bye week.

Just watch out for your next 3 opponents from the AC North ... they can all be dangerous on any given day.

I was the number 1 passing team in my league last season and now I can't pass well at all.

Maybe people actually care about their defensive backs now?

and maybe everybody is a bit more careful about the blitzing option. Remember: if you take off the safety by sending him out for blitzing the QB leads to a weak defensive backfield too...
