Do blitzing LBs cause hurries and incompletions?
Because I have my guys set to blitz 15% vrs every formation but have only picked up 2 sacks in 6 official games and one of those was against a bot in supercup. I'm curious because if they don't cause hurries and incompletions I'm going to change my settings because it really isn't worth while... I do play a 3-4 so maybe the extra linemen are picking up the blitzers? |

Yes, I would say for the next game engine Blitzing could use a revamp to become more useful.

I completely agree.
In the former engine people stopped blitzing because it's useless against run. Blitzers never stuffed runs at the LOS, but instead left gaps in the defense, easily exploited by good RB. I had hoped with a pass heavy new engine blitzing would pick up some pace, but it remains very difficult to actually sack a QB. Take a look at my main QB Rachid Tak. He has never been sacked during 2767 pass attempts. To finally answer your question: I don't know exactly, but I'm pretty certain QB have less completions when a blitzing player breaks through the line and isn't picked up by the FB. |

I've no problem with DL getting sacks. My DE's Scott Graham and Sam Maher prove that. But I'm just curious as to whether its worth sending my LBs blitzing.
Don't expect them to be picking up a load of sacks but if they're not causing hurries and incompletions then I'd rather have them in coverage. risk v reward etc. 3 in 8 games now. But 2 v bots... edit For what its worth my 4 LBs all have SPD/STR 40+/40+ with high intel/tw. 3 are draftees and one is a 30yo with tackling/vision 18/16. Maybe because they have low agility they're not reaching the qb? Last edited on 2012-11-19 18:55:51 by holmeboy |

Didn't checked the entire list, but top 10 are all DL players, the OP is about LB's blitzing. |

my LB´s have all together 7 sacks at the moment. So blitzing works better with the new engine because teams pass more. But of course DE have more sacks because they blitz every play if they could break through.
LB´s could only blitz in 15 % of the plays. So no surprise that LB´s have less sacks then DEs. |

Nobody is saying they should have more sacks then a DL, the OP is saying that maybe there should be more impact when blitzing a LB then there is now. Like Hurrying the QB which should cause Incompletions, since we don't have those stats, it's literaly impossible to evaluate if the LB blitz is causing any of those two the OP mentioned. |

ok we haven´t these stats but why shouldn´t the QB be in hurry when someone is blitzing?
We have a special trait called fearsome From the manual: Quarterbacks are scared just by this player lining up across from them. Fearsome gives a 5% chance to cause the QB to feel hurry pressure when this player is blitzing, valid for DL, SF or LB This indeed that QB´s feel hurry and thro incompletion but not all the time. A statistic where you can see this will be good, but where have you got the information that a QB doesn´t feel hurry by blitzing? |
