Im counting no chickens with my beloved Washington POUNDING the Cowprats 28-3 in Texas at halftime just yet....but the purpose of this post is about RG III.

Can anyone doubt he is the real deal? After that first half showing if nothing else?

I mean yeh he can run - but in his rookie season he is making veteran decisions and some of his throws are simply jaw dropping - hey they take some catching - take a bow Skins receivers - but this is why the Skins gave the Rams pretty much every first round draft pick until Armageddon.....he truly is one in a million.

And dont give me no comparisons to Cam Newton - RGIII is miles better than he will ever be.

So is this a biased Redskins view? Or do you agree that RGIII is destined to become an NFL great.

Got to get 2nd season syndrome out of the way first but from what little I have seen of him he looks like he could be a decent sharks back up if given time to develop

I saw one of his TD passes last week and he certainly has some arm on him

He is a great rookie QB.

It is biased in my opinion, he hasn't even finished his 1st full season how can we talk about him beeing destined to be a NFL great! To soon, aldo I belive he as what it takes, but let's not forget that what makes him great can also be what leads him into trouble. Taking of and running like that has it's costs, his going to get hit hard lot's of times and his early contusion is another proof to that.

The comparison with Cam Newton is understandable, Cam also had a fantastic rookie season, and yet his production is not the same this year, and I'm not saying he is better or worst than Cam, but they both use their legs to make alot of plays, and defenses will start to pick up that with more time, and it will get harder for him like it did with Cam, but clearly RGIII has more of a "QB Mind" than Cam in my opinion.

And RGIII is very fun to watch.

I think some QBs you just know are destined to become great QBs of the future, even if they are in the early stages of their career - yes, of course its too early to call him a great now - but much like Manning (Peyton!) always looked the part as soon as he pulled on a Colts jersey - and A-Rod made the Packers fans quickly forget Favre, i see Andrew Luck and RG III as genuine great QBs of the future - injuries apart of course.

Its not his scrambles - to me it is his poise in the pocket, his checkdowns and his throws to receivers that only they can make plays at - the DBs have no chance to make picks or even break up plays - his footwork is superb and his arm back up the decision his brain makes.

Yes, im biased - but i can appreciate QBs of other teams also and if RG III was in a Rams jersey or any other team (with a few exceptions!) id still be enthusing over him as i am in the Redskins uniform.

I don't know about Peyton, but Rodgers didn't started to play right away, I think he was #2 at least 2 seasons, and even when Favre left they were doubting on wether to start him or to get a more experienced QB to replace Favre. So he didn't took the league by storm like we can say both Luck and RGII are doing.

C'mon now MTS, he throws picks just like everyone else LOL. I get that you have a man crush on this guy but someone needs to pump the breaks on that post.

Like I said, he is very fun to watch. Not hatting on RGIII, quite the opposite, kid as skills and a brain, if he continues on this path he can become a great QB, right now he is "only" fun to watch.

A-Rod came in for Favre when Favre finally went down and missed a match - the following season Favre was gone and A-Rod was the starter from the off. He was drafted in the first round purely to pick up the reins after Favre - though it did take 2 seasons as his backup before he got his break.

Are you watching the game? You see the throws RG III made to Moss and Josh Morgan? Am i saying that every pass is impossible to pick? No...what im saying is that for a rookie he has the presence of mind to throw behind the receiver or to the DB blind side whilst feeling heat from the defensive pass rush.

Hey - time will tell - and yes im excited as Washington hasnt had a QB of this standard for a LONG time - but just as RG III tosses another TD pass - i see nothing but greatness for the guy.

We'll see.

By the way - if a 'fun' QB puts up statlines that he has done over the season, then there arent many 'fun' QBs in the NFL right now.

Yep, he didn't got launched to the wolves right away like RGIII and Luck.

I am not watching the game, but you were describing him like a QB god who never makes a bad throw, and was impossible to be intercepted. Your words not mine.

You should be excited, the kid is electrifiying and that makes him fun to watch.

Example:

-G.O.A.T-, Manning, Rodgers are great QB's (2 Certifiable HoF and Rodgers is the same), but they are not as fun to watch has RGII, so me saying he is fun to watch as no diminor involved in it. But he needs to do a bit (ALOT) more to be among those names, don't you think!?

Stafford had one heck of a season last year, and yet I never compared him to those guys. Why? Because it was "only" one season, things can change very quickly.

No. The Packers went ahead with Rodgers because they were told by Farve that he was retiring....finally. So the Packers made Rodgers the starter and stuck with him even though Favre flipped flopped on his retiring....AGAIN!
