I don't know what it is that I do wrong with the passing aspect of my offense. This new engine has me frustrated because I haven't figure it out yet. I mean, damn, in season 4 I was in the champship games for CoC, SC, and my league. Last season I made it to the final four of the CoC, conference championship game in my league, and an early exit in the SC playoffs (lost to Magpies so understandable). This season I lost in the first round of the league playoffs, and did not even qualify for the SC playoffs.

I try to incorporate passing in my playbook and end up throwing int's more than most it seems. My qb has 50 intelligence, 28 vision, 27 passing, 42 strength. I have 2 good te's. I have a great oline. I have 3 draft wr's. Yet my passing never works. I got frustrated and tried to run more in my league playoff game. I controlled the clock ran much better than my opponent but he had 3 touchdown throws that was half his offense production and I lost. I wouldn't mind the low completion percentage for the big plays if it weren't for the turnovers.

So, what works in the passing game?

take all medium and long passing out of your playbook! recievers just drop them and INTs will happen lots. its then just potluck who gets lucky with the big plays.

depends on how good your TE's are at catching.

I don't see the point in trying to limit the direction/target area of your QB if he has INT of 50 ....... if Darkwing passing worked in this game, it would be the thing to do, but it doesn't ... so if the TE's/WR's/QB's are all good, leave it to their skills.

Also, the 'new new engine' (2.2.1 used in Friendlies), doesn't seem to be so pass-friendly as the current (2.0.0 engine), there seems to be fewer passes of the 60/70/80 yard variety, and more of the 10/15/20 yard type (call it West Coast, for simplicity's sake). Plus the 2.2.1 engine seems more Rush-friendly than 2.0.0 .... so, IMO, it's possible to go 50/50 rush/pass successfully in the 2.2.1 engine.

Thanks for the thoughts. This season was just a loss in terms of success. Perhaps next season the new engine will work better for me. I'm burning up credits trying to figure out what will work.

i hate this current engine! lost 66-3 today to malakas bulls who managed to rush 9 times for over 200 yards from big i vs 4-3-4 yet i couldnt move the ball with the same formations used. its all just been a guessing game and skills mean nothing at this point to me. time for a firesale is coming soon!
